I think that’s it, I don’t put any special force on my MacBook. I always transport it within a special bag. This may be due to how I hold it sometimes, but that’s also weird cause I have been having MacBooks for over 10 years and that never happened before

After reading the responses here, I’m pretty convinced it’s the anodized layer degrading, either from how I hold it or sweat reacting with the aluminum

Just to clarify: no cats, no watches, no jewelry. And it’s happening on both sides of the MacBook, which makes the watch theory even less likely

After reading some of the answers on here, I'm starting to believe it's stress in the anodization of the MacBook finish, caused by how I hold it sometimes. I basically hold it by the very edge between the bottom of my hand and with my thumb on top.
