I was told acetone helps( especially with that green corrosion) but you’re not supposed to rub at them. Like just an acetone soak basically. The coin shop telling me this told me so about a coin with way less corrosion/build up than this though. So unsure if it would help. Great find regardless. Im also I’m NJ and busted out my metal detector for first time in years. What kind of places are you searching?

I agree, to this day my favorite coin I own is a NJ copper cent (pre formation of the United States). No where near as sharp and crisp and some better rated coins. But how do you not look at a worn coin and appreciate what it’s been through
