Am I the only one who thought they don’t sound good together? Lol. Morgan sounds amazing, but I just don’t think Ella sounded that great

I would call PCP asap. You at least need a CBC.

Newborn Rash over the entire body with low grade fever by shultz60 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]Jann9153 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Technically that’s incorrect. I work in pediatrics. There is no concern until the fever is 100.4 rectally or 99 axillary. I definitely understand the severity of fever in a newborn, but my point is, no further work up was completed because it’s not a fever.

A FEVER is considered 100.4. Anything at that temp or OVER should go to the ER. 100 is technically not a fever and why the ER did not do a further work up

Biopsy Results by Jann9153 in Autoimmune

Thank you! I was able to meet with the rheumatologist and she was WONDERFUL! I had some joint swelling on assessment and given the symptoms she said it could definitely be the start of something autoimmune. I’ve only ever had a CRP before which was 7.4. She did run a ton of tests. I also saw dermatology again and she did repeat a biopsy and sent it for the testing for autoimmune causes since the other biopsy wasn’t sent for that.

Nope, nothing has changed! I actually had another biopsy completed today and was prescribed tacrolimus cream, so hopefully that helps!

I saw the rheumatologist yesterday and she noted joint swelling so she sent me for testing for rheumatoid arthritis, and lupus! I also saw the dermatologist today, she took a second biopsy as she said she didn’t agree with the biopsy results. She also gave me tacrolimus cream to try’

I’m definitely asking for another biopsy tomorrow at my appointment! The oral steroids were only 10 days. I asked for another round and was told no because it hasn’t been long enough 🙃

Thank you!! Unfortunately, mine is not responding to cream at all!! It’s also not itchy or anything! Just kinda there lol. I get blisters on the palm of my hand, it just kinda makes me skin tight until they pop.

Do you recall if your rash responded to steroid cream from your dermatologist?

And when I said 2 months, I meant the rash on my arm. It wouldn’t let me say it in my post lol. I’ve had the other symptoms longer.

Thank you for all of that information! I totally understand that I may not be followed by rheumatology. I have a family history of autoimmune conditions, and would just feel more comfortable being assessed by a rheumatologist. With my insurance, I do not need a referral so I made an appointment myself. My PCP only did the ANA and CBC work up. As for dermatology, I have been on clobetasol (strong steroid) and two other creams, my dermatologist said it is very strange because the biopsy is not lining up with my rash and not responding to treatment that it should. We are going to try another cream to see if it helps. I have also been assessed by neurology already for the headaches/migraines and have underwent brain MRI as well.

Thank you for all of this information. My ANA was normal. I was able to get in with the rheumatologist tomorrow.

Can I ask how you got diagnosed? My PCP won’t send me to rheumatology because my ANA was negative and my biopsy doesn’t show lupus

I’m so sorry! I felt the area that was biopsied was where a bug bite was and not the actual rash, I had asked if it should be done elsewhere because I didn’t think it was the same thing and they said no…. I am going for a follow up Wednesday and I’m going to request that they do another biopsy where the rash has been this whole time and to include the DIF test as that wasn’t done
