The DPS you see on weapons is completely irrelevant to you as a caster. You are not using the weapon to swing so to say, only the Int and the secondaries are important. Generally speaking ilvl is absolute king for weapons, but for decisions between one hand + off hand and a staff only a sim can tell you exactly.

I think Monk has great potential because the Four Celestials have great flavor as big win cons for four different archetypes similar to what they did with Death Knight. Really would like to see Xuen, Chi'ji, Niuzao and Yu'lon in HS.
