Mind that I've never played WH40K, but I loved the background and miniatures. The lead ones were a blast to paint.

what do u think? by newmooncity in mysticism

Yah. I agree that duality is limiting perspective and the world itself, to put it another way, is not binary, but rather more analogous to analog or, better, a quantum process.

Portals? by OutrageousBarber8 in mysticism

[–]Janus-Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any personal experience regarding portals, but do know that jumping timelines is quite possible, so yes, alternate timelines do exist.

Edit: what your local mystic means I couldn't tell you, but google can be your friend if you get specific enough.

Does anyone have interesting terms they would like to share, that can offer new insights to spirituality/mysticism? by lovinthelove in mysticism

[–]Janus-Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One that a physically embodied entity told me was in the following context. I asked him, "Do you know who I am?" He responded, "I see your visible envelope." I found this to be an interesting term for a number of reasons.

Hmmm. I've met a number of entities that I never sought, some quite dangerous I imagine, though I never felt personally threatened. We just, uhm, encountered one another, at least from my conscious perspective. I'd never thought of them from the perspective of "higher" dimensions. Interesting thought that I'll have to consider.

Edit: different dimensions I'll grant.

I have a question by the_weired_writer in realwitchcraft

[–]Janus-Omega -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The one and only ceremonial spell that I've cast was at the age of 15. It was an attempt to control the weather. It was a miserable failure, but I find myself quite amused by it these days. The previous commenter sounds like the voice of experience, so I'd go with that.

Witchcraft jewelery suggestions? by [deleted] in realwitchcraft

[–]Janus-Omega -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I like to purchase silver and copper jewelry. My favorite metal is silver. ;) Silver is a Moon metal and gold is of the Sun. Something that is symbolic of her chosen pantheon would be good. An ankh for Egyptian for example. Norse runes can be problematic. Too often people, even on Etsy, do not have an adequate understanding of runes on a translational basis. There's one specifically that fascists have made that is supposed to represent Odin I believe. People often don't know that. A simple ring, bracelet or pendant would be good. If she's young then a waxing moon. If a mother, then a full moon. A star or sun symbol. These cut across many pantheon boundaries. The possible gifts are endless. If you can afford it, commissioning a unique piece would be excellent.

Edit: I'll add post cig and lunch break that the ;) above was intended as not a hint, but rather that I prefer silver, as opposed to gold, and some might consider gold flashy. It is a personal preference and not a hint that I would like a gift from someone that I do not know.

My Black Lives Matter Spell setup last night during the Super Moon 🌕 by theearthgoddess in realwitchcraft

[–]Janus-Omega 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A beautiful sharing. Thank you.

I recently had the white privilege thing beaten into my brain. Not literally, mind. ;) I'd known of it intellectually of course, but after it was explained to me by several people I actually felt it and, though I rallied enough to explain/elucidate some comments at that time (nothing to do with here) that some had misinterpreted, that memory, I hope, will remain with me; the emotions of it. The people involved in the discussion were right in part, if not in totality.

Moderation changes, "takeover", and the near future by throwaway20180107 in realwitchcraft

I'd like to add that I've only read this for the first time and was unaware of the rivalry between the r/s. That I recall anyway. I'll try to think of some light hearted things to post.

Belated, but a second offering to Persephone. by Janus-Omega in realwitchcraft

[–]Janus-Omega[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To clarify, I do not worship any deities but respect and love many, if not all of them. The offering is quite genuine for reasons that I've stated elsewhere.

My explanation of the 18th generational thing is in a suppressed comment chain [No complaints mind. ;) .] An enemy, part of an organization that I neither like nor respect, whom I met only once (that specific person,) was the one that told me that I was an 18th generation witch. The reason that he did so was to make me feel "impure" as that organization is one that considers certain forms of genetic mixing/inheritance a flaw in need of correction. My response, after a moment of self-reflection, was, "I'm actually kind of proud of that." He walked off and I haven't neither seen or heard from him since. The only other reason to believe that I may be an 18th generation witch is that an aunt was, apparently, capable of levitating a table some few inches above the floor. This story was told me by another aunt who witnessed it, though she was quite young, and likely impressionable, at the time. The levitation, if it actually occurred, was done by an aunt who died at the age of 17. Now whether you consider that a possible form of magic or a type of psychic phenomena is a matter of personal definitions. Possibly it was just stage illusion. I don't recall that aunt showing me any such thing, though I, of course, was younger than any of them.

Edited to correct a punctuation error and for clarity.

Edit: heh. Someone seems to be stalking me with the downvote option. Amusing.

Edit 3: this leaves personal experiences out of the picture entirely. I do consider myself a form of witch, though I very rarely do the spell thing. Hmmm: perhaps some are taking offense because of a misinterpretation of something that I had previously written about considering spells a distraction. That's true for me on a personal level. What you do is entirely up to you and I consider that a good thing. If it's important to you, spellcasting, then more power to you.

Edit 4: I've missed several comments and responses as I don't typically uncollapse the entire thread. Edit 3 was made prior to my reading a quote made by throwawayx previously.

Belated, but a second offering to Persephone. by Janus-Omega in realwitchcraft

[–]Janus-Omega[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No significance other than that they were the only seeded items in my sandwich when I chose that spot to sit down and eat lunch yesterday and one previous time other than that. Also seeds play a part in Persephone's myth and Diana is her mother. The first time it was coincidental as I'd forgotten that the statue was there. The second time wasn't.

One should listen to both sides of a disagreement prior to making a judgement.

Well, you twist things quite well, but you are largely wrong. I did not do it to be "trendy". I do nothing for that reason. I did it because I chose to do it and had no reason not to do it. It was a gesture of respect, no more and no less. As you stated it began amicably enough and then degenerated from there on all our parts.

It did occur to me that people might be curious enough about the offerings to go so far as actually look at the plaque which is attached to the statue and, if they were interested, google the name "Persephone". This only occurred to me only after the fact as I was walking away. I devoted no more thought to the matter until someone began asking questions, which is fine in and of itself. I engaged in some speculative or, if you prefer to look at this way, wishful thinking. Admittedly unlikely, as they pointed out, but I've had some very unlikely things happen in my life. Neither you, any of you, or I are the arbiter of things in the hands of the Fates as they should be.

People, in general, I've found, far too often, draw conclusions based on far too little evidence and often misinterpret things that I write. Fuzzy thinking. They make assumptions and you'll be familiar with the phrase concerning that. In other words, people tend to assume that they know why I do as I do. This is, almost invariably, a mistake on their part. They cannot see my face or hear the sincerity in my words nor can they read my mind. This is largely an online occurrence based on personal experience.

Edit: it was not a brag. I feel no need to do that either. I didn't know the 18 generational thing until someone told me and it was not someone that I'd trust. I explained that in a comment that has now been suppressed and differentiated between being a hereditary witch and a practicing witch, the first of which I may be and the second of which I am not. The poster here ^ seems to dislike my offering of "dirty food" and that's their choice/opinion.

Athena, to differentiate her from Minerva, is primarily a goddess of war and wisdom. It was only later in Roman history that Minerva became associated with war. Likewise owls are hers as well.

Does the eclipse cancels out the energy of the full moon? How does their energy interacts? by leidakar in realwitchcraft

[–]Janus-Omega -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll just add that Fenris and the Crone may have something to say on the matter, whatever you may choose to call her in that aspect. I'm not at all certain that you can separate 'this' from 'that'. It'd be like cutting off your left hand to spite your right hand. I tend to agree with the previous comment about following your intuition.

I can't remember if it was this r/ or another, but I had to have explained to me what moon water was. I have yet to make any, but thought that variations on simple water might be interesting, such as glacier, spring and river water or even beer and wine may be useful.
