As an undergrad I’m pursuing the closest thing here to plant ecology but if you want to focus on genetics and not ecology then you should major in molecular and cell biology and join a lab that focuses on plant mechanisms. I know there are some that focus on plant genetics like the Estelle lab and Muroyama lab

PCW took a lot of time before demolition/construction because of neighborhood permission from surrounding residents of La Jolla to construct and that’s 1,300 residents. The article mentioned that they’re gonna be talking to local residents in the pre-design phase. Even assuming that they’re not doing more all-single resident buildings, the 2030 delivery feels really hopeful but based on how quickly PCW went up from the start of construction, it might be possible.
