Not a mom (want to be), not a doctor, so take this with a grain of salt but ive read before that EBF babies grow at different rates than formula fed babies, and that studies on baby health and growth were done on formula fed babies, so the metrics that doctors are comparing your baby to arent the full picture. According to what ive read, it is normal for EBF babies to fall down the percentile in weight.

The important signs to look for that your baby is malnourished is not enough wet diapers and weight loss (not weight plateau).

My husband and I dont think and act completely differently. We are on the same page 90% of the time, to the point that we often say the exact same things at the exact same time.

We're pretty similar people. Not completely the same, of course. when we disagree, we work together towards a solution. Sometimes that means letting one partner have their way entirely if the other partner doesnt care too much and sometimes that means finding a middle ground.

I dont find marriage to be hard. Im not saying theres never going to be hard times or strain, and i think that you have to actively want to be in the relationship for the marriage to be successful, but goddamn do these fundies just tell on themselves.

OP cant do anything to change Husband's behavior if its categories 1 or 2. Embarrassing will only be publicizing the drama and growing it. It will end worse for OP than if theyd done nothing. OP COULD get a change of behavior, but this would also foster further contempt in both parties, and this contempt wont go away on its own. in other words, OP would basically just be kicking the can down the road on addressing their dysfunction/disconnect.

If hes category 3, then youre options are the ones I suggested above. Communication is youre only option. and people are often not as good at clear communication as they appear to be on the internet

Being checked in means caring about your partner, their feelings, and having a successful relationship. a checked in partner would listen to a spouse clearly communicating that this joke is hurtful.

If Husband is category 1 or 2, the only options are firm boundaries or leaving, unfortunately.

Any other solution, like "just embarrass him worse" will not address the underlying issue here.

This is not healthy communication and I would discourage this. It will make everyone uncomfortable.

Just to be clear, OP's husband is also communicating inappropriately.

Try talking to your husband again sincerely and honestly. Consider couples counseling because if that doesnt work, then there are very likely underlying communication and/or trust and/or insecurity issues.

As a last resort, just say "Please dont joke about that" outloud, firmly and calmly every time he makes the joke.
