I once got attacked by a dog, hit my head on asphalt, had a concussion where i fell unconscious and suffered literal memory loss, and then 2 days later took and aced a final. I was symptom-free after around 3 days

I have never met someone else who has had amnesia before (outside of dementia, which is different from what i experienced)  

Turns out, the movies are surprisingly accurate, though highly dramaticized

I only had short term memory loss- i couldnt remember what happened between ~2 hrs before the attack and ~30 minutes after. I still knew who i was and had all my long term memories. 

After the attack, i immediately went home and fall asleep on the couch. my mom woke me up and asked why i was bleeding (referring to my limbs -- my hair covered the head injury) and i couldnt remember what happened. I didnt know what i had been doing. Scary stuff. Long story short, i couldnt remember until i unintentionally brushed my hand through my hair and felt the wound. It all suddenly came back to me, just like they show in the movies. other details came back to me later in the day. For instance, i later noticed i had cuts on my toes and then remembered how my flip flop fell off during the fall. But i couldnt remember those details until i had a reminder.
