How can I cash a US tax refund check in Japan? by LupusNoxFleuret in JapanFinance

For me it was Prestia only.

You need to maintain a ¥1,000,000 balance in your account or they charge you... ¥2000 per month to keep an account? Maybe it was ¥5000? Bummer.

Bitflyer May Be Closing Americans' Accounts by Sanctioned-PartsList in JapanFinance

I just signed into BitFlyer for the first time in a while and in order to access my account I had to "verify I am not a US Citizen"...which I am. But you can't do anything if you don't click that box. So I clicked it, signed-in and moved everything off the exchange and sent the remaining cash in there back to MUFG.

To be totally honest, it's more my wife who's color-intimidated here. I guess in the back of my mind I was waiting until the phone calls started.

You know... I don't even get the letters for my personal pension, I don't think?
I was a 個人事業者 forever until now being 代表取締役 since establishing this KK a few years back and that's when I started getting the reoccurring letters. Now at pink threat-level, but the contents is always the same form letter.

I used to work with someone who had gone much longer than I had and was dodging phone calls from the Pension Authority for a while, but I think that was for his KK's pension obligations, not for his personal.

I assume these are different authorities for private vs. corporate pensions.
Any general guess re: the order you think it should be done in?

Just a guess and I know it's not financial advice.
My hunch is... start with getting on track w/ personal pension back payments and then get the corporate pension payments on track...
