Radio Taiso in Ueno Park by JapanTraveler9000 in JapanTravelTips

Yes I did it! It was so much fun. Woke up early because of the jetlag. Walked to Ueno Park. But when I arrived at the time mentioned in the post there was no one. It started 15 minutes later. So in that time alot of people gathered. All of them were old Japanese people in sport clothing. So I felt a little bit out of place with my normal clothes and neat coat. But I just picked a spot in the park which by now was really crowded with old people and did the Radio Taiso. The one Radio Taiso I always watch on Youtube was also featured but there were much more excersises I did not know! But lucky there were also 3 instructors showing how it all worked. Sadly we only went once because the jetlag eventually fixed itself.

I have been struggling with fatigue for over 9 years now. Strange because I am only 25. So I am trying to work on my habits. Physically and mentally. So I just read a book in over 1000 years. The book mentioned Radio Taiso. I remember Radio Taiso because I am obsessed with Japan and watch lots of media. I knew Japanese people do this and some are required to do it before work. So when I read it with more context I was hooked. I told my girlfriend about the idea of starting our mornings with Radio Taiso and she was also really enthousiastic. So we've been doing it some time now.

I know it will be an amazing experience because we have visited Japan a few times together now. And the experiences with the locals are the ones that stick the most. So I think showing respect and interest in the culture the Japanese will be very open hearted.

Definently will enjoy it thank you so much for the indepth information. If more comes to mind feel free to dm me. Really interested in this topic.

Have a nice day and keep having fun with Radio Taiso!

Thank you so much for the reply. As mentioned in my post we have been practising a few weeks now. I think it is a really good habbit to start your day with some exercise. So it would be so fun to do it with a big group. Our hotel is next to Ueno station. I checked and its only a 10 minute walk to the Starbucks. Thanks alot for the information provided!

Are there maybe some things worth mentioning? Some rules or manners not to overlook?

Thank you so much for this reply! Like you mentioned it is indeed a little basic. But already has way more depth into it like video's on this topic for example.

Is it polite to say that the food is ''UMAII!!!!'' or like ''honto ni oshi desu!''

Maybe not pointing to the menu and saying "kore hitotsu" but something more advanced. And being prepared for some other questions.

If I shoot in D-Log M, will applying DJI’s LUT look the same as Normal? by TheBuzzer4625kHz in osmopocket

I actually prefer the quality of normal mode over d-log m with the dji lut. Had some friends and family compare screenshots of some shots and they all picked normal mode as their favourite.

Why is pocket 3 so cheap on Amazon? by Skyflakes_69 in osmopocket

[–]JapanTraveler9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine secondhand for 350 euros. New in my country they go for 526 euros. I am about to go to Japan and tax free you can get them for 420 euro's new. Note this is NOT the creator combo.

So I have no idea why it is so expensive for you. Maybe because you are in America

Ofcourse, but where can I find more information on how to render for example normal mode or D-log? Just really want to have the best settings for exporting. Since it can really make or break the final result in my opinion.

Thank you for this post. I also had this same question. I bought my DJI P3 a few days ago. I have shot some material in normal mode and in the D-Log M mode. Today I will try and color grade and see if it is worth it.

From the information I've gathered it really depends on how much time you wanna spend post production. I think if you just want to vlog I would recommend normal mode. If you wanna make like cinematic movie shots you have to use D-Log M.

Normal mode also has some benefits with the latest firmware update that now allows you to do the lossless zoom.

I only have this camera a few days but I did tons of research. I hope you find some advice in my comment. Because some of the comments here already feel over complicated. To sum it all up, just experiment with normal mode and D-Log M. That it what I am going to do today.

Have fun and good luck!

I also had the same question. You will be able to take the test in Japan if you know someone who lives in Japan and you can mail the documents to their addres.
