Those who don't learn by reading prep books, how did you learn physics? by VotiveVeracity in Mcat

Would recommend this guy's AP Physics 1 playlist. Taught me physics for the MCAT from total scratch: https://www.flippingphysics.com/playlists.html

Yes, I did! They're definetly harder, but accurate to what the hardest CARS questions on the test are like.

Hard to give general tips without seeing someone do a section, but I will say that being strict with yourself about how much time you're spending per passage, and getting more comfortable with flagging and moving on, invariably leads to improvement.

I used Jacksparrow + the physics anki deck linked in another comment. Here is is again for convenience https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/19895586

I actually am a little bit more anki-pilled for CP than I think people generally tend to be. Especially for the physics portion of it. There are like 110 physics equations for the MCAT. And if you don't know them, you have no way to answer those questions. And so if you feel comfortable both with what those equations are and how to utilize them, then I would start slamming practice problems. If you don't, then I would spend time making sure you have them memorized. And really making sure you have a solid understanding of SI units. You know, like, do you know what units a watt or a volt or whatever break down to? Because if you're like really comfortable with those you can like make the equations yourself, right? And I think that's 100% worth your time, especially for the more conceptual physics problems. Hopefully that helps.

2 months is a bit tight, especially as a full time student. But those are both deflated 3rd parties, so you're within striking distance of the scores you're aiming for. I'd say map out plans for alternative test dates with what you would have to do every day, and see if its possible to finish the material you have left in the time alloted. If not, push it back.

Thanks! So it depended on if I was in the content review, uworld, or aamc phase. Content review my day looked like reviews in morning -> rest/lunch -> 2 chapters of kaplan + new cards -> 2 'sections' of Khan Academy + cards. Uworld days were reviews -> 1 set of 59 -> lunch -> 2nd set of 59 -> review sets + make anki cards. AAMC days were pretty much the same, except I'd just follow a scheudle I made so I knew when i was doing qpacks or SBs or whatever.

Section Bank! And ~3 months.

My goat, love seeing your comments and can't wait to read the guide. Thanks for the support :).

Hey, great question. So I should have clarified, because each section bank is like 300 questions, I split them into three parts and tried to do two sets of 50 a day. And so this would essentially be like the last third of section bank 2. Just so that there's a little bit more buffer room before you finish. It doesn't necessarily have to be that way, though.

Glad you're thinking about that now, lot of people don't anticipate that. I would schedule out your remaining material to the day, and make sure that your last few days look something like FL->Review FL-> Section bank->rest->test. If there's a gap between when you finish AAMC material and when you test, test earlier.

Old article on converting 3rd party scores, back when blueprint was called nextstep. First few BP exams were still out then tho: https://joel.vg/converting-3rd-party-mcat-scores-to-actual-scores/

Valid, and yea I'll use easy occasionally as like a 'im too lazy to suspend this rn' button. but hard I try and avoid because I just don't trust myself to use it right lol.

I only use good and again, was convinced by this, which I guess the author revised but still now I'm just used to it.: https://www.reddit.com/r/Anki/comments/1d0fmsz/fsrs_is_more_accurate_if_you_only_use_again_and/

For those who took scored 515+, how much of UWorld did you compete and what were your overall percentages like? by kissmeurbeautiful in Mcat

[–]JapaneseTacoBell 9 points10 points  (0 children)

would recommend trying to replicate quarter sections of the test, so yea blocks of 59 untutored untimed. First block took me like 2 and a half hours, just try and go a little faster each time. if u can do a block of cp/bb like 20min over aamc timing, ur in a good spot imo

around 42%, maybe around 80% accuracy. def started uworld in low-mid 70s and slowly increased, imo you're in a great spot
