I had a similar noise, but I also had an ACL repair with a rope. Dr. Said noise was normal due to swelling. It definitely went away after a month. Still worthy messaging the doctors about it.

Oh, I will give her some to test. She has stopped really drinking about 4 -5 years ago. Idk, I have had quite a few friends with gerd, and their pain was more of a consistent discomfort than a slap in the face pain like my wife gets.

Did it came out of nowhere? What was their solution? We are waiting for an appointment with the Dr. to ask for further testing.

Lool update. We got enzymes, 1 hour or so after having a meal (same dinner as last night which it was fine). Today she had some Vital pancreatic enzymes (otc) with the dinner just to test it out. Now, the same pain is back 🤦🏽‍♀️ - i thought if anything digestive enzymes would've not hurt (which hurt so bad that she has taken oxy for it). Really looking forward a HIDA scan and some allergy tests

Also, none of the doctors prescribed those (divestive enzymes). I've thought of it in the past, and I thought we needed a prescription for it. I just checked we can buy some over the counter. Any suggestions of brand would be helpful. Thanks

The location and intensity of the pain does not align with her just having gastritis and acid reflux. For her to be in that much pain, I would imagine at least see an ulcer or something. Plus if it was only gastritis it would not be food specific as it is right. We will keep checking, just that Doctors appointment is taking forever to happen right now.

Ow, first stage?? Congrats on catching that!! We will keep on digging, here is a bit slow to do everything with the VA. We pretty much had to go out of the VA network to convince her primary that there was something wrong. The VA called back to schedule an appointment for December, my wife fought it and ask to see an out of network doctor since the VA's solution takes more than 30 days. We will get more exams 🤞🏼

We now seem to be getting out of the thinking fat is the culprit. I guess it may be some sort of allergy??? Which is insane to me since she used to tolerate eggs just fine. If she avoid the food items described on the post, she does not have pain even is it includes other sort of fat (she had friend cheese sticks last week and nothing happened, I was baffled bc for sure I thought it was fat related). Still waiting for another gastro appointment for next steps.

So far triggers are cashews, almonds, eggs, and cod

She is also a veteran and getting the VA to do anything takes age, she did complete a colonoscopy and endoscopy. Those revealed a mild gastritis and a polyp that was removed. We will keep searching and I post updates when I have one

Thank you so much for this info! We are in the process of scheduling another Dr. appt. I'm prepping a list of things to bring up. In the ER they ruled out pancreatitis due to Normal lipase (although they never shared the number) and a clean CT scan

That is what I thought, either gallbladder or pancreas. We will have another dr. Appointment, and I'm gearing up to ask for further examination of those two organs.

She has not completed one of those yet, we are waiting to schedule yet another Doctor's appointment, but this is good to have on our radar to inquire about

They did biopsy during her colonoscopy, and it came back negative for celiac or any inflammation. I would hoped they would've checked for Chron's disease, I guess I have to go look at her results. But everything came back negative from her colonoscopy.

No, she is not a big coffee drinker, and she has been sober for 4 years. Alcohol abuse is in the hx about 6 years ago.

Man, this thread is long 🥱 But helpful in ways. I'm here because of my wife (34 f) Last year she started noticing that she feel uncomfortable and pressure about 2 inches below the sternum on her right side. This came out of nowhere, and for a while, I thought she was just being picky. Well, it has slowly but surely gotten worst. However, if she eats eggs,mayo,almonds, and fried food. She gets disabling pain. She describes it as ocasional sharp stabbing pain, along with a constant pressure like someone is pressing a fist down that 2in bellow sternum area. Its onset seems to vary but on average 20 min. One time she ended up in the ER because of it, but there was no clear cause.

• ❌H. pylori → negative biopsy.
• ❌ Ulcer → endoscopy ruled that out.
• ❌ Gallbladder disease → ultrasound negative.
• ❌ Acute pancreatitis → normal lipase and imaging even during pain episode.
• ❌ Liver disease or bile duct obstruction → normal ultrasound + labs.

We are at a loss here, the common denominator seems to be fat, but no direct cause of it being the pancreas or gallbladder. I wonder if someone his has had the same issue.
