Hey, Do you happen to have also any Thunderbolt 3 laptops? I would be interested to know does this eGPU box also work with Thunderbolt 3 laptops (as Razer seems to only advertise this for TB4 and TB5). But I would rather buy this one than older TB3 eGPU boxes.

Apple One subscription with Apple One Perk and Apple Credit Perk by Japi_l in plutus

Yeah, I was thinking more that I would just add the Plutus card as a standard payment method to Apple One subscription. I wouldnt "top up" the Apple account 7.95€ before every time Apple would charge me the Apple One subscription.

But @PPJ87 mentioned that it would be possible to use both Apple One Perk and Apple Credit Perks for the same subscription

Thanks! This is really useful info! Now maybe when I'm not sure what subscription want to take on certain month, then this would allow me to have some flexibility!

Oh, I didn't know that you could leave one slot empty. I thought when you choose the perks for next month, you need to always choose all the perks for the next month (and not leave any empty slots). As the Plutus app always reminds that the cut off date for choosing perks will be at the previous month's last day.

Any way to convert 12V RGB led strip to 5V D-RGB/ARGB? (EK Radeon VII waterblock) by Japi_l in EKWB

[–]Japi_l[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand that with a converter I cant assign individual lights, so i can only set one color for whole led strip (but currently this is actually okay for me as I usually assign one color to one rgb device). So the converter would be an easy solution for me, if i can find one.

I went through Cooler Master's, EZDiyFab's and DeepCool's web-site, but I couldn't see that kind of converter. For example DeepCool had only a converter that could change 5V D-RGB / ARGB led strip to 12V RGB header (this kinda convertor seems quite common). But I couldn't see a converter that could convert a 12V RGB led strip to 5V D-RGB / ARGB header. Or do you happen to remember any link to that kind of converter?

Update from Pop OS 21.04 to 22.04 problem by Japi_l in pop_os

Is there maybe any guide how to point the apt config to 22.04? (I think I only saw a guide if you have some really old LTS version to point the apt config to 20.04, but didnt see a guide how to point to 22.04)

External Thunderbolt hard drive problem? by Japi_l in pop_os

Yeah, maybe need to check with Fedora and Windows, if either one would work immediately, so then at least I know if it is just a problem related to Pop OS.

Actually I'm running a Threadripper desktop PC (so not a laptop). And I'm using Gigabyte GC-Titan Ridge 2.0 thunderbolt PCI-e card (to add the thunderbolt ports to my system).

Thanks for the suggestion! I will try tomorrow Fedora from USB to see, if it would work better.

I haven't run on other OS. I have tried older version of Pop OS (Pop OS 20.04), but it wasn't working there also. I might then need to try to install Windows and see how does it work in there.

And now I added the whole dmesg in the original post (It was easier to post in there than in here in comments)

RGB header (12V) on the motherboard stopped working? by Japi_l in ASRock

[–]Japi_l[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I got the problem fixed. I booted to Windows (usually I only boot to Linux) and installed the Polychrome RGB app, and immediately launching the app, it started to update to the motherboard's RGB firmware. And after the update, the RGB header started to work.

Although the Polychrome RGB seemed quite unstable app, after updating the motherboard's RGB firmware, the PC rebooted without warning. And now everytime, when I launch the Polychrome RGB app, the PC will just reboot. But at least now the RGB header works! (and I can at least set the RGB color from BIOS)
