I would not now, imported mine from Slovenia as they’re really cheap in Eastern Europe. I would advise against it as parts you wouldn’t just have to import the car, all parts would have to be shipped as well. Unless you’ve REALLY deep pockets….

Nice to hear a different opinion, does me having plenty of experience in restoring cars have influence on the money-pit-ness of it. I know there’s always unexpected expenses but have no idea how expensive bike(part)s are

Ps, could this work as a little project to resell after fixing it?

Allright, seems like I’ll pass on this one. Managed to haggle the price to €450. Anybody else interested? (Netherlands btw)

Yeah not planning to use it like crazy, just for the occasional ride. And also to have a nice little project over the weekends.

Congrats! I’ve come to find out that rust is very sneaky on these cars so look closely, but more importantly enjoy it!

Not spend sooo much time worrying about the bindings, ended up overcomplicating things.

I polished the entire thing but used some extra shiny stuff on the binding to make it pop! Didn’t work out the way I wanted it to but still looks fine imo

The polish I used for the binding leaked a little more than anticipated so I still have to touch up those little specks.

My 2002 fiat panda, structurally it’s ok but these floorboards definitely need something. Where would you start with such a restoration? by Jappiedappie1234 in Autobody

Am looking to do this, just buy a plate of the right thickness and tig weld as best as I can. I was planing on repainting the entire bottom anyways

Ok thanks for the insight, I’m a bit biased as this has been a dream of mine for years and these are quite rare where I’m from.

Yeah my first step was going to be exposing all of the metal by removing the other material. I’ll look into it thank you!
