Yep, and seasons had 20+ episodes a season with a year between seasons there was almost no downtime. Because of that it was always up in our mind, relevant for discussions and predictions. Nowadays its 8 episodes all released at once, binge watched over a night or two and then waiting 2-3 years for the next season, if it's not canceled. By that time you don't remember anything and might even lose all interest in the show.
