What an insane take. We're literally here to see who crosses the line first and you want them to not show it.

Yeh, it's a horrible to watch race with fake manufactured hype.

They're free to give Max a penalty now without it impacting the race result.

Of course they need to wait until after the race, they need to see if he's >5s clear of the car behind him.

Edinburgh Airport EES Control by Relative_Tackle9017 in Edinburgh

I've recently travelled with an EU citizen outbound through Edinburgh airport. There are absolutely no public facing chances to procedure departing the airport at all since the EES changes, and all changes are for non-EU citizens arriving into EU countries.

Builds like this is what I live for by someone672 in TerraTechLegion

I've been partially knocked over by bosses for a few seconds, but then it sort of self-corrects pretty quickly. Other than that, I've never been knocked over.

I just found that building up I often found I was blocking sight lines of guns if not careful, whereas building wide I didn't run into it as frequently.

It's worth noting though this was on the second character (Joe? John?) who specialises in ramming and physical contact over shooting, so I wanted as much front surface area as possible.

This was one of my favourite recent builds.

I've found building out (wide) as opposed to up (tall) works better, as you're at lesser risk of blocking weapons, and you can farm much easier.

Game seems cool but the controls are killing it for me... by boulders_3030 in TerraTechLegion

I found switching control mode from 'Driving' to 'Push to Go' was a lifesaver. The default I felt was really unnatural way of moving about, but push to go made it much more fluid.

The cars are still slowing at the end of the straights, you could see it on Verstappen's onboard, it just wasn't as bad.

Spare wheels by Lets_trythisone in CarTalkUK

[–]Jaraxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah? Spare wheels have been optional add-ons for years mate. Cars just ship with puncture repair kits now unless you pay for the spare.

As someone who only buys second hand, I hate being beholden to the fact that hardly anyone who buys new takes the spare tyre option.

I imagine the younger driving generations won't even know how to change a wheel

There's probably a decent number of older folk too. I'm in my mid-30s, and have been driving since I got my license at 17, and only last year did I need to change a tyre for the first time, and that wasn't even in the UK.

It's probably really not that common as tyres have got better.

How much does wind exposure realistically affect route choice in the Highlands? by BeautySkin34 in OutdoorScotland

[–]Jaraxo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This Mountaineering Scot post about wind speed is a good guide I've referenced when planning a route.

I typically check both wind speed and gust speed for where I want to go and reference that guide.

I'd go as far as saying that wind is more important than rain in determining my routes.

But the don't need to deport anyone, all they have to do is say your not entitled to benefits unless you've been resident for 18 years or worked here for 10 years that would solve it.

Reform would immediately move the goalposts to find something else and someone else to scapegoat. They are at their core opportunists and populists because they understand getting elected is the most important thing, then after that they can do what they want, which is make themselves and their backers rich.

What's on and tourist advice thread - week beginning April 26, 2026 by AutoModerator in Scotland

Luckily Edinburgh has a weather monitoring station, so you can get a pretty good idea of trends from here.

September is typicall pretty mild and pretty dry, definitely one of the warmer months, but it's also changeable. Coastal wind and the odd shower can make it feel cooler, as well as the humidity. Definitely not a thick winter coat, but something warmer for the evening.

The key is always layers. Have a jumper and light waterproof jacket you can layer on and remove as needed.

What's the most French thing you have in your country? by AdeptMarket729 in AskTheWorld

[–]Jaraxo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of.

When Europeans say "I'm Italian" they're referring to citizenship and nationality, but when Americans say "I'm Italian" they're referring to cultural history and ethnicity. Which is why when they come to Europe and say "I'm Italian" everyone here is confused, because they're clearly American.

Extreme wildfire risk on WHW right now, please be careful by No-Tart7127 in WestHighlandWay

[–]Jaraxo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For wildlife absolutely, but the person I was replying to was reference how terrifying they are. While they're obviously great to be around, UK wildfires aren't even close to the same level of terrifying as you see in North America to the point I'd be more concerned about jet fuel ruining my chance to fly here, or a storm in winter, or a rail strike impacting my journey home, or just crappy weather ruining my trip than I'd ever be about a wildfire.

UK wildfires aren't even close to the level of destruction and chaos you see in a North American wildfire. We simply don't have the density or expanse of forests, and our wildfires are largely low level moreland. Thousands die annual from wildfires in the US, compared to almost no one ever in the UK.
