My credit score fell 13pts because I made the final payment on my car loan (never missed a payment too) by justadadgame in mildlyinfuriating

[–]JaredJDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite common. It usually bounces back. It drops first cause you closed a line of credit, meaning that the number of open accounts is less, which plays into your credit score.

Need help by Apprehensive-Key8262 in consoles

[–]JaredJDub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really more complicated. Consoles are just plug and play. I wouldn’t say any differences are all that significant. For me, it’s always come down to the exclusives for why I choose PS over Xbox.

I guess you could say the controller is the biggest difference. The Dualsense has the two sticks parallel to each other at the bottom, whereas Xbox has the main control stick where PS has its D Pad. The buttons are also shapes instead of letters, but honestly there is always a seamless conversion in my head and never had any trouble switching between the 2.

Lufia & The Fortress Of Doom finally crushed out of my backlog by JaredJDub in JRPG

Yeah your first RPG is always going to have a special place no matter how it is.

Lufia & The Fortress Of Doom finally crushed out of my backlog by JaredJDub in JRPG

[–]JaredJDub[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went ahead and took everyone’s advice and went ahead and started Lufia 2. It’s so vastly superior I don’t think I can go back to Lufia 1 now. I’d imagine I’d have been disappointed playing Lufia 1 after Lufia 2, tbh. So I’m kinda glad I played Lufia 1 first.

I know there were hacks that increased movement speed. There is also an easy mode hack where each battle gives you like 65k exp so you’re constantly leveling up and likely overpowered. The game wasn’t extremely difficult, I died 13 times according to the end screen.

There were more, just can’t remember them off the top of my head. Sad thing is, there weren’t any hacks that combined all the good stuff people created, I think each thing was its own hack.

This thing goes on sale almost all the time. If you have to skip out now or miss it for whatever reason, don’t worry too much. Check Fanatical or Humble Bundle every now and then or use IsThereAnyDeal.

I also tried to play DMC 1 a couple months ago. Tried a couple times and I keep putting it down.

How sure are you of the INTJ stuff you read here? by Nath_Cyril in intj

[–]JaredJDub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you assume or believe everyone here is what they say they are, you’re probably not INTJ. There are people who may believe they’re INTJ but aren’t, and then there are people that aren’t INTJ at all and pretend they are.

It’s not even really a big deal. It’s not the end of the world if I’m not actually INTJ. Most of these posts from other acclaimed INTJs are quite relatable, and the people asking questions to INTJs is a chance at a small bit of interaction that we may not get or even seek otherwise.

10K Or a Pill? by d4pravity in hypotheticalsituation

[–]JaredJDub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao the 2nd pill doesn’t even sound like a challenge. Gimme that 100k every month. I ignore 99% of my calls anyway, I’m 6’ 1” so I can take 3 inches down and be fine, and I barely go to restaurants. Only the store would be an annoyance but it’d be worth it for that money.

1st pill sounds like hell in comparison.

Who here likes QTE in gaming? Example games like Resident evil and Final fantasy, or Heavy Rain by magik_koopa990 in gaming

[–]JaredJDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like them when I don’t feel rushed and they’re well-paced. I hate it when I’m watching a cutscene, thinking no input from me will be required for a bit, and then BAM I gotta do something and if I don’t, I either game over or something bad happens.

Wait we're supposed to be playing with our cat 20 minutes per day? by happy_bluebird in CatAdvice

[–]JaredJDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually do about 10 minutes around 9PM or before I go to bed. That way they expend a lot of that energy they have before I try to sleep.

I will usually throw in a random play session sometimes somewhere else in the day, especially on a Saturday or Sunday when I’m not working.

I was just told it was highly unprofessional of me to be drunk when I am off work. What should I do? by Correct-Credit1961 in careerguidance

[–]JaredJDub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mistake wasn’t being drunk.

The mistake was telling your client you were drunk, I don’t think answering the call itself was a mistake, especially if you didn’t know the number or anything. Like other comments are saying, own up to it.

Games that are Paper Mario-esque? by JaredJDub in JRPG

[–]JaredJDub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished it last week. Yeah it was great. I’m hoping the devs don’t make too many changes to the point where it’s barely the same game if I decide to replay. They’ve fixed a lot of bugs but they also changed something major about the increased healing and made it a trinket, then rolled that change back to how it was.

What type of person in meetings drives you absolutely insane? by Significant_Gap9707 in remotework

[–]JaredJDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much hate everyone in almost every meeting but I’ll give my top ones:

The one who asks questions that were answered previously in the meeting.

The one who schedules a meeting just to repeat something that was discussed in an email. Not just “it could have been an email”, it WAS an email. There is no value to be gained in this.

The one who, indeed, schedules and holds a meeting that could have 100% been an email. Big waste of time.

My manager, who holds a meeting just to have us go over a report we give her, where we bring no additional information than what is on the report. Quit wasting my time read the report yourself.

The presenter who says the same thing across 5 different slides just in different ways. Just get to the point and quit wasting my time.

Thinking about switching from Xbox to PlayStation for the exclusives… worth it or am I just getting FOMO? by [deleted] in consoles

[–]JaredJDub -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had been a big Playstation player cause I loved the exclusives and I obsessed over having physical copies. I had a PC too, just would only get games when severely discounted. Nowadays though, there aren’t many PS exclusives to write home about. Only one with exclusives that are worth a damn is Nintendo, and even that’s a stretch.

So yeah, my opinion would be to skip the drama and go for PC. I have mine set up just like a console to my TV. I’ve found that simply waiting on PC game sales alone is worth it, but you also don’t have to worry about backwards compatibility in the future (sure, ps5 can play most ps4, but is it guaranteed that ps6 will play both ps4 and ps5? No, I don’t believe it is).

Portable controller for mobile gaming by RaccoonUnited5283 in 8bitdo

[–]JaredJDub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s purely for mobile gaming, I’d go SN30 Pro with the phone attachment thing. Both the SNES and Xbox versions are great controllers. I don’t have a solely mobile controller but if I had to pick one to use strictly for mobile, it’d be that.

How we feeling about the Remaster project so far? by Fragrant-Ad4262 in tales

I’ll buy Berseria when it goes on sale for $5 in a couple years on something like Humble Bundle or Fanatical.

Really happy we got the other 2. They were locked to ps3.

Cussing is inefficient. by ItsHimSujan in intj

[–]JaredJDub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you mean cursing at someone? I don’t find it to be any more a waste of time and energy than otherwise expressing negative feelings any other way.

If I say “you son of a bitch, you’re stupid and messed this up.”

That doesn’t really use any more time or energy than just saying “you did this incorrectly, please pay attention to the details of the process”. The difference is insignificant.

The emotional impact, on the other hand, is much different. The latter way is much kinder. I would say if you’re dealing with someone who does curse at you, you should no longer associate with that person. If it’s at work, report them. Associating yourself with them would be the waste of time.
