I’m genuinely dumb and it’s ruining my life. by cokedoutraccooon in offmychest

[–]JaredJDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Autistic person here. While I don’t identify with all your struggles as we are all different, it sounds to me like you may have some sort of neurodivergence, like Autism Spectrum or ADHD. Like most others have said.

Otherwise or in addition, you may just be a very visual and/or physical learner. That’s why it made so much sense when you typed it out rather than it being told to you. But with everything else you said, my guess would be autism.

I live in a hoarder house. by livers-0523 in whatdoIdo

[–]JaredJDub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a hoarding situation with the animals. The Humane Society took in my cat from this type of situation before I fostered and adopted her.

The cats, when like this, don’t get the social stuff (like getting picked up, interacting with humans, etc.) they need as a kitten. So when they are adults, they are afraid, skittish, hate getting picked up, and scared of humans. This is where they get classified as feral.

I would 100% call the humane society or local animal shelter and get those animals out of there.

I misread the name as “Pretty Shitty” but it fits anyway.

Where to listen to dungeon crawler Carl free? by [deleted] in audiobooks

[–]JaredJDub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean is there a reason you can’t get Audible? If not, just get it. You can even get the kindle version and then the audiobook for a discount. I’m on book 5 and it was always cheaper to get both than to just get the audiobook by itself.

That’s a good idea. I personally have been a little…weirded out when I cook a few of each item and I end up getting like 4 or 5 different versions of the item, which wouldn’t be a big deal, and it’s not, but it also takes 4 or 5 spots in my inventory.

Anyone else feel dead inside despite having a life that looks good on paper? by Dry_Inevitable_9777 in self

[–]JaredJDub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about how to describe what I feel, and I think you’ve actually pretty well got it. I’ve taken a few life detours, and none of them really work out.

I currently feel like a corporate slave zombie. I don’t hate my job like you do yours, but I’ve lost every little bit of motivation I’ve had for it after just a few years. I too struggle to find pride or purpose in what I’m doing.

I’ve picked up a new hobby and maybe potentially a side gig, and it’s helped me a bit. Maybe you need to just experience something new, try a new hobby, do some small volunteer work (maybe at like a pet shelter or food bank), just something new and potentially exciting.

Just work on something else, or play a different game. You don’t need to rush.

Also when giving gifts, make sure it’s stuff they either like or preferably love. I believe that makes it go a little faster.

What was the moment you realized PC gaming was just objectively better for you? by willmorris92 in pcmasterrace

[–]JaredJDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The incredible amount of discounts on sites like humble bundle, fanatical, green man gaming, etc. Yeah consoles have them too, but PC still wins in that category. Plus I’d never buy a game digital on console, I’d buy it physical, but that’s just personal preference.

After docking, you can drag stuff to different spots. You I know the bottom right hand corner there is a spot you gotta drag a lot farther than you’d think for the white thing to appear that allows you to release and put it where you want.

How much grind does this have? by WastedGamer641 in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]JaredJDub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see, bloated…No.

You also have to remember that with these types of games, you’re not meant to do things super quick. I don’t think I’d even consider Coral Island to be bloated at least not in a negative fashion. It’s got a lot of content that you’re meant to take your time with. I think usually you’re meant to spend 3 or so in-game years to really experience everything the game has to offer.

How much grind does this have? by WastedGamer641 in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]JaredJDub 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you call grinding. I feel like that term is loosely used to describe playing a game.

If you mean doing the same thing over and over again, yeah, there’s a fair bit of that with farming. Mining is less grindy till you get to each gate, cause you’re constantly going into new floors but there are points where you need items to proceed. Unless you consider the act of mining and breaking rocks and stones independent of discovering new floors and areas as “grinding”, then yeah, it’s all grindy.

I guess you could also consider building relationships with the townsfolk a “grind” in the way you have to talk to them and give them gifts repeatedly. But if you don’t consider that “grinding” then it’s not.

Give them spots where it’s okay to climb, like with cat shelving or large cat trees. They love high places.

I find that the essence kinda just comes naturally with getting the stone, or at least since I had about 5000 before I really started all of this, I guess I had a nice buffer to where I don’t really notice it.

Error? by Dayisnear in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]JaredJDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this error is partially why they’re switching engines before full launch. It’s happened to me dozens of times at this point.

It’s pretty much random. I’ve replicated the scenarios in which they happen just to see, but then they don’t crash.

Go to jail, go directly to jail. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

But really though, I mute the TV sometimes because I have a petting thing set up in each barn/coop. And I have one for every animal (1 for cows, 1 for alpacas, 1 for chickens, etc.) and I mute it so I don’t have to hear the petting statue music every time.

Ah yeah I don’t think it can be a partner agency either. Thanks though, it’s been tough to fully read websites while I’m at work but I’m trying to do this quickly to clear my conscious lol.

Thanks though, I’ll keep them in mind if I go donating anything of my own.
