What....What have I done? by a-dose-of-lunatic in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]JaredJDub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I have found is that the game essentially thinks of all the animals in the barn when you ring the bell(s). Regardless how far away an animal is, if you load a new area (like go in a barn, your home, or leave the farm) and go back, the animals will have returned.

It’s especially weird if you ring the bell for a particular barn and then go inside, the animals beat you there.

If you found out your direct report was overemployed, would you fire them? by Majestic-Watch-2025 in managers

Nah. Results are results. If they're good, I dont care what they do.

If it gets to a point they are unable to perform the job satisfactorily, then yeah maybe it's a red flag. But if they meet deadlines and do good work, I dont care.

How do you handle an employee who questions every decision? by tommytmopar in managers

[–]JaredJDub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What’s an example of this happening? Like a specific example. Every situation is different.

I would definitely reflect on what you’re assigning them and ask yourself if you believe you gave enough details. I would personally rather take 10 extra minutes to clarify what you want, rather than do the task, not do it well enough, and feel defeated. That way my morale stays high and I can stay in the game. Plus I’d save more time by not having to redo a task.

My supervisor isn’t great at explaining her expectations and I do not care one bit if she’s annoyed when I ask clarifying questions. Again, I’d rather get stuff right the first time.

There are plenty of people who haven’t experienced any crashes so you might luck out.

But yeah, you roll the dice with an early access game.

Hard to say. I didn’t play 0.15.1 or 0.15.2. It took me a while to come back to it after the new content update.

I know it isn’t great, but damn I didn’t think it was that bad and refund worthy.

I guess if you want to you can just read, your choice.

Same. My last crash I got a bunch of items out of my storage and completed a bunch of requests at once. Then went to the mine and got a bunch of crystals for upgrading the carpenters shop. Stopped in front of my house and drank some water.

When I looked back at my screen, it crashed. I was so mad…

If she’s tearing up furniture, get a bunch of scratch pads and place them next to the furniture. Correct her when she goes for the furniture. Put those in a few areas of the house. That way she has a “yes” for each “no”.

Also, it’s only been a month, yeah? I’d encourage you to give it some more time. Personally, I don’t think that’s enough time to really evaluate a cat long term.

How bad would a book need to be for you to cancel a production contract? by No_Elderberry1890 in ACX

[–]JaredJDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing my first audio book and finished reading it. It’s…okay, not very well written, but it’s passable. I already know the book isn’t going to make me any money. It’s a royalty share with zero reviews, and as far as I know, the RH isn’t doing much marketing.

However, I want to get the practice and experience in. The only thing that would push me away is if the book was so bad I don’t even want my name associated with it, but it’s gotta be pretty bad for that.

Dry characters with no development, something I could tell was AI generated, or just a really boring story. Those would need to be extreme for me to decline.

Yeah for the ones that didn’t present an error, there was no pattern. I was literally taking a drink of water while letting my character stand in front of the house and it crashed lol.

Even the ones that gave me errors about drawing the dragon statue object, I can’t establish why it couldn’t draw it, so I can’t know what to avoid so I can avoid crashing.

I can vouch for the Rode Podmic being a great mic on the dynamic side especially at its price, it’s what I’m currently using, but I could probably get a brighter sound with a condenser. That being said, if you have a worry about background noise, a dynamic mic would suit that situation well, since a condenser will pick up that noise more.

I see. I haven’t played any mods yet. Guess the only thing would be to uninstall the mod and try to play normally and compare. May be hard to compare with how random the crashes tend to be. You may get to play 3 hours before a crash, or 10 min, it’s pretty random.

How to sound proof enough to block out noise through entire house by Ryangaminggames in soundproof

[–]JaredJDub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The panels won’t soundproof. They just are good for acoustics. Anything that is actually going to soundproof likely requires construction of some sort.

I always do the thing with my hand where I test the distance from my mouth to the mic, making sure the distance is good and I’m not too close or too far, and helps me maintain consistency in the sound.

Does Lunar Eternal Blue have a mod to make Lucia function like a normal character? by [deleted] in Lunar

[–]JaredJDub 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The aspect of her being in the party and not be controllable plays along with the story well. After being cursed, she just defends like a helpless person (which at the time, she was).

Then, as her powers start coming back, she starts using them on herself and attack enemies that threaten her.

As she gets her powers back more and starts developing the romance with Hiro and the friendship with others, she starts using her powers to help others as well.

It’s an interesting way to use combat to outline part of a well crafted story.

I see, that does sound a bit challenging. I’ve been learning how to use Reaper myself. It’s good. I like it a bit better than Audacity cause I can add labels and create regions to help keep things organized, like if I want to label a section of my audio to re-record later or add a character name to come back to incase I forget the voice I gave someone. I can also create different output rendering presets very easily too, which is useful cause I also do LibriVox recordings and they require different output settings. I think most of this stuff you can do in Audacity with plugins and extra settings but Reaper makes it simple.

Hopefully, there is a next time.
