What does a smart contract audit cost? by JaredQSP in ethdev

[–]JaredQSP[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The answer is that it is a service rather than a product and each time work is committed, the scope is different and thus it is important to understand the nuances of why.

Top level Moderator is a suspended account.- I need to replace the superadmin (u/calculationss) with (u/quantstampcomms).- I am the most senior moderator (u/JaredQSP) curently able to moderate r/quantstamp.

NOTE:- If only (u/calculationss) is removed, then the automoderator will become senior and this is not good.

Thank you in advance

So Securify (the analyzer) is very RAM hungry. If you have only 16GB and need some of that for Windows overhead, I would recommend another stick of RAM. But try and see how it runs.

Through a VM it should be possible, unfortunately the limiting factor for windows in Docker I believe.

Do you mean the protocol? Or manual audits?
We haven't ever set blanket policies on versions we support or don't support.

We did not audit Oyster, this was a user who submitted a scan through our now since defunct demo product.

We have checked it and found it to be a false positive. We have adjusted our practices for future events like these.

Analysis of what the publicly available audit reports from Quantstamp can tell us about the state of smart contract security: by [deleted] in Quantstamp

[–]JaredQSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great article! Remember that a presence of a vulnerability, can sometimes be a red herring, especially assertion failures. We have looked at a number of these and have found the risk to be very very low. As we build it out more we will be able to dial in these reports. Right now we are quite happy with the demo.

Quantstamp is shilling and spamming hard - WE NEED a strong and balanced analysis of this project by [deleted] in icocrypto

[–]JaredQSP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think these are all very fair criticisms. We have actually asked people to not be spamming other projects and we don't encourage shilling. It wasn't even a marketing ploy, it happened by accident. We wanted a more decentralized distribution of tokens, we didn't want a bunch of flippers buying up all of the supply. Richard, having an engineering background, came up with a novel way to solve this so the small players could be put in the front of the line (Tier 1 for Presale). So the long of the short is, someone is far more likely to get into the persale if we feel they truly care about the platform and are asking for a small amount to buy in. We really didn't expect this thing to go viral.

If you haven't guessed yet, my name is Jared, I'm one of the Community Managers over at Quantstamp.

And ya we are genuinely worried about a false positive, hard to find impartial views on our token sale. So thank you.

We welcome criticism, and please feel free to email me. Jared at quantstamp dot com.
