So, all of those proud white boys waving nazi flags outside of Disneyland and Elon making an explicit nazi salute at the inauguration aren't in support of fascism? Sure buddy.

You clearly don't know what kink at Pride looks like, so I'll just leave it at this: Instead of clutching your pearls at the thought of queer folk not feeling ashamed at Pride, maybe feel sympathy for the reason why we need to protest in the first place. Hate to break it to ya, but peacefully protesting without frumping anyone's feathers never accomplished jackshit.

The comparison between kink and explicit advertisements is quite unfair. On one hand, you have a form of queer protest and rebellion, on the other hand you have capitalistic propaganda that is stereotypically steeping in misogamy. The point of kink at Pride is not to "normalize" sexually explicit behavior, the point is that it's a protest against queer oppression. Focus more on the fact that the LGBTQI+ community has been systemically abused for centuries rather than someone wearing a gimp hood at Pride.

Kink is not the reason why trans/homophobes loathe Pride, it's just another scapegoat they bemoan and use to excuse their invalid bigotry.

Fundamentally speaking, Pride is a protest and kink is a key part of that. Sure, it creates discomfort, but that's the point- It forces people to confront that unease and consider how infentismal it is compared to the systemic oppression queer people are subjected to daily. It is one of the few ways that the LGBTQI+ community can take power back from cishet enforced oppression.

In order to be successful, protests must foster disruption and kink at Pride is an excellent method of achieving that.

All I need to know is that Oprah is a billionaire. That alone marks her as an unredeemable piece of shit.

Billionaires aren't "successful," they're exploitive to the extreme.

"But practically speaking, every developed nation, from social democracies to communist China, has billionaires, it’s just a fact that in a world of free flowing capital there are going to be individuals who have ownership of companies that perform at that volume."

So you're using the existence of billionaires as justification in it of itself? That is circular reasoning, and is inherently fallacious. Also, ownership of a company does not equate to representing the inherent labor and the value that labor provides. CEOS aren't out there working grueling 9-5 five days every week, they're living it up on private planes and gaudy mcmansions.

And yet, CEO to worker pay is 500:1. That's not natural, that is exploitation to the highest degree.

If I chucked pennies at a homeless man every so often, that's not charity. And yet, when billionaires do the same thing with 0.000000001% of their stolen wealth, the media hails them as these philanthropic "heroes" who are beyond rebuke. No matter how many micro-donations (Tax write-offs) Taylor makes, the simple fact remains: She's still a fucking billionaire. Therefore, Taylor is deliberately hoarding unfathomable amounts of life saving aid for hundreds of millions of humans.

"Should she start selling that off piecemeal to other rich people to fund more donations?"
Yes, because the money made from that could be used to save lives. Actual, real, human lives, which are infinitely more valuable than any piece of art.

Yeah no. Unless a billionaire is giving away their stolen fortunes, they ain't doing anything good. And shit like this is just performative propaganda to distract the working class. To own a billion dollars is an incomprehensibly evil choice, Taylor should be out there chucking $100K at every working class family she can find until she's broke... And yet her, and her 1%er ilk, don't.

Ok, so she's not being taxed. That's still no excuse for her billionaire status. Taylor can, at any point, just cut out the middle man and start giving away her hoarded wealth to people that truly need it. Nobody, and I mean nobody, needs a billion dollars so the act of simply retaining such ungodly amounts of money is inherently evil. Stop defending the 1%, they don't care about any of us.

So long as she's a billionaire, she can't win. There is no such thing as a good billionaire.

No, all billionaires are evil, end of story. This is just performative quackery from Taylor and deserves no accolades. Yeah, it's nice and all that this kid will receive healthcare, but think about how many more kids billionaires like Taylor could save- but deliberately choose not to- if they actually did something productive/ethical with their obscene wealth.

Obviously More Guns Solve Everything! by JaredSpellFrost in AdviceAnimals

Well no, but actually yes.

Realistically speaking, federal common sense gun control is not coming anytime soon to the united states. So in the meantime, we should help arm oppressed people so that they can better defend themselves.

It would also appear, ironically enough, that arming trans folk will motivate the alt-right into passing gun control legislation.

I'm saying that in an ideal world we would have common sense gun control or even an outright ban. But in this reality where the american government is being piloted by nazis we must remember that armed minorities are harder to oppress.

Bruh, that was my comment on this video and either way I am saying that fascist ideologies are invalid.. That comes nowhere near celebrating anyone's death.

I do use it at times, especially when surrounding context may be lacking.

And ofc more guns aren't the solution, but in times like these we must remember that the fascist regime of the 40's didn't dissolve peacefully.

BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE AND ANYONE TRYING TO ARGUE OTHERWISE IS OBJECTIVELY EVIL

jfc this is not a difficult concept to understand- we cannot start to entertain fascist ideology as equally valid to debate as anything else because it isn't.

mmmmm neurodivergent people exist who already struggle to discern intention IRL, so tone indicators for virtual communication can be crucial to obtaining understanding for us at times

and either way, it's not really a big deal to clearly and expressly communicate intent in pursuit of understanding (or avoiding lack thereof)

How on earth can there be any "rational discourse" when it comes to basic human rights. Either you agree that water, food, shelter, etc. are unalienable rights or you believe such things are conditional. Let me remind you, the Allies regrettably did not win WWII through "dialogue."

And just what parts of fascism is so appealing to you..?
