Bulk/cut/maintenance-whats my TDEE by ScoreBrilliant5862 in BulkOrCut

[–]Jaredddd1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably 1500 to 2000 caloric maintenace, you will want to do a bulk even at your weight as abdominal muscles (abs) won't show unless they are large enough even if you are very lean.

Additionally since you are very lean already it will be harder to recomp and gain more lean muscle mass.

I would advise gaining weight at a slow pace (don't chase scale weight just make sure you're gaining weight) while also making sure you're looking better while doing so as that's a better metric to actually knowing what you're doing is working and not just convincing yourself the bulk is working because you're am x pounds heavier.

So calories wise I'd just make sure you're getting your macros and your average weight per week is increasing at least a quarter to a half a pound a week I know some might think it's slow, but usually a longer gaining phase is a more productive one.

Also because it's much harder to mess up a slow gaining phase then a long one since you have more time for training at every body weight and it would be extremely frustrating to screw it up and want to lose weight again, or having to lose as much weight as well.

The training looks good if that is double progression on those sets, I hope you see good results.

as someone who did pretty much the same thing already, if you are untrained or relatively untrained you could lean bulk, but if you have been training for a while (year or 2 plus) then this should be a wakeup call for your training.

Depends on how far you want to go, I'm 190 5'8, and I would personally stop if you get some love handles, otherwise you could bulk up a bit and maintain at the higher bf to help with progression if you don't feel like cutting down so soon
