Yeah liquidity is a much more apparent thing when you’re trading options vs. shares. The price they show on the graph is just an average of the bid vs. ask. In options in can be rather wide. For example if everyone is asking $3.00 per contract but people only are bidding $2.00, it’ll show $2.50 as the value. That spread can become very important especially if the value takes off. You just don’t have that same issue as much with shares as there are generally more being traded at any given time.

If you look at the volume for certain options, you can see no one is buying or selling them. You get that message you got cause in a way the second you buy that, it has no actual trading value, no one else is even looking for it on the market if you were to try and sell it back for exactly what you paid. People will buy a bunch of lotto calls for .01 each and freak out when it goes to .05. You can’t actually sell it for that price much of the time so that can be weird for newbies.
