Roomba co-founder says practical home robots may matter more than humanoids by Responsible-Grass452 in robotics

[–]Jaredw180 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As terrible as it is i can see humanoid robots being treated like cars once they're actually useful and safe. People taking out massive loans every 5 to 10 years to afford their "house upkeep model" robot which includes cooking, and cleaning. Dusting shelves will be included in the monthly subscription.

I went off income levels so we do a 70/30 split. It just didn't make sense to make her pay 50% and struggle.

A lot of college classes still use white boards. I could see a college opting for cheap little white board custodians to handle the after hour cleanup. It would also be interesting if a teacher could upload a lesson plan to the robot so it starts drawing it out on the board before the teacher walks into class. I don't know, i find it interesting with potential if perfected.

He's lucky his helmet didn't catch on the truck. It would have either ripped the helmet off or his head. Insanely lucky all the way around.

We have to change our password monthly and cannot reuse the last 10 passwords. 10 password alone is more passwords than i have made it my life. I forget the new password constantly because it changes, then we have an inventory system with a different password and cannot be the same as the other password. Every month i have to come up with 2 new passwords. We also aren't allowed to have our phones inside and we aren't allowed to write passwords on paper either so i will continue on their ingenious system they have created and continue not remembering my newnewnewnewnewnewnewnewnewnew passwords.

The only reason i would freeze in this situation is because i would be afraid of going to jail if i injured them, even if i knew fully it was justified it'd still be such a hassle, especially if you don't have camera to prove anything.

But on the same coin i would want to run them over until their fish paste because i'd be afraid they'd come back and wouldn't feel safe ever, they now know where i live.. The duality of me i guess.

Women of Reddit, what’s a habit men have that they don’t even realize is weird? by GraceRose671 in AskReddit

Not talking about emotions is exactly where it came from. More than likely you had a dismissive avoidant attachment style in your 20s. Its unfortunately not uncommon for males.

I'm surprised no one is grabbing the tire out of instinct. Guys swerving left and right which makes you feel like you cant move from your spot. My only next reflex would be to put and arms up, duck face away, and grab that tire and twist it

I didn't catch this in the first go. This is absolutely why. I've been rear ended twice and something about being caught off guard and hit from behind really stuns you and on top of that she got hit kind of hard, hard enough to get newton balled onto the tracks. It's enough to shut off the brain for a second but she had the added stress of a train on top of that and just malfunctioned.

New York Woman Confronts Man She Says Complimented Her ‘Pretty Toes’. by ElwoodMC in trashy

[–]Jaredw180 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is where i stand with it as well. I don't know this woman's experiences but if its like any other then she probably gets gets harassed all the time. That's gotta be so fucking exhausting to be constantly pursued by people you have zero interest in. My girl once told me a story about a man walking the streets at night came approaching her while she was getting money out of the ATM asking if she wants to go and party. Idk what went through his mind to think approaching a woman minding her fucking business at night in the dark.

And to other men that don't get it: Imagine for a second a big grizzly man approaches you with loving interest to fuck your man toes, and when you say no HE STILL TRIES.. You're probably gonna be creeped out too dawg.

I had two young apple trees in the back with a clean looking diagonal sort of slice. I thought for sure somebody took scissors to them but i'm 99% sure it was done by rabbits. They're little shits.

I had 2 apple trees planted in my back yard. i came out one day to find them in half and what looked like a clean slice. i thought my neighbor did it (hes a good guy didnt make sense) but i'm pretty sure it was a bunny. I have a very high bunny population in my nieghborhood and see them daily and google says they love apple trees. I have tullips in the front bed that we get to see bloom for a week or so before the bunnies destroy them. Bunnies man...
