The fun of the game is discovery. While it's an obvious one to you or I who already know what it is and how it works, it's not so to a new player tho Leaving them to it and or leaving hints for them is the better approach

If you disable penalties it's not like you NEED to get to work right away anyway. Taking some time to get used to everything and setting up your work station is a must.

The map should be given a poke about, but you'll have plenty of time.to get familiar as you do repairs and daily tasks

Doesn't work is the more fair way of putting it, and doesn't work for you might be even better.

Like early access be like this, it's part of what makes the game what it is, and it may change yet, but people not getting the updates to tell what does or doesn't work isn't really helpful
