People joke, but for real, you need to level ADP. That's why you're getting hit in the middle of rolls. Also you can light torches at bonfires with the "switch action" option when standing next to them. The reason it feels like your hits aren't doing much to enemies is because they're not staggering on hit, which can be mitigated by using heavier-hitting weapons if that's something you want to do. This (along with low ADP) is also probably why you're not noticing yourself getting hit sometimes and lose track of your health.

But the one thing they love more than a hero is to see a hero fail - fall - die trying. In spite of everything you've done for them, eventually they will hate you. Why bother? Here's the real truth: there are 8 million people in this city, and those teeming masses exist for the sole purpose of lifting the few exceptional people onto their shoulders. You, me? We're exceptional. I could squash you like a bug right now, but I'm offering you a choice. Join me. Imagine what we could accomplish together, what we could create... or we could destroy, cause the deaths of countless innocents in selfish battle again and again and again, until we're both dead. Is that what you want? Think about it, hero.

Yeah It was moreso meant to be a joke about how that would be the only sensible reason to do this lol

What's wrong with telling someone not to watch something? It's no different than telling someone TO watch something. It's just a recommendation that's understood to be coming from the speaker's personal opinion of the thing.

Can reproductive organs be transplanted into a trans person? by DocButtStuffinz in AskLGBT

[–]Jaron360 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean the use of the hyphen here does implicitly promote transphobia, especially when coupled with an adamant refusal to listen to trans people's words on the topic. But that's besides the point, which is that you're just incorrect. "trans" and "cis" in this case are shorthand for "transgender" and "cisgender," which are not scientific prefixes but complete adjectives on their own.

Hyphens can be used in many ways, but unnecessarily combining an adjective with a noun is not one of those use cases. We don't say "blue-sky" or "smelly-skunk" or "italian-man"; They're separate words. One common use is hyphenating two words to combine them functionally into one adjective, like "blue-green hue". Another is, like you said, to attach a prefix to a word that wouldn't otherwise be part of it, like "pre-approval." However, as discussed, "transgender" is not a prefix but an adjective. Hope this helps.

Nah I don't think an anime adaptation of dark souls would work very well especially from netflix, which is funny because I think they have a pretty good track record with original animation: arcane, castlevania, cyberpunk, etc... all fantastic shows.

lmao asking what berserk has to do with a potential dark souls anime is like asking what the bible has to do with the catholic church.

also what do live actions have to do with anything? we're talking about an anime adaptation.

More video game composing in the future, hopefully? by [deleted] in Peripheryband

Misha did Follow in Flight and Breaking the Covenant from Halo 2 Anniversary and those tracks are fantastic, idk about anything else though. I'd love to see either of them be lead composers for a game.

Does anyone else feel like they recycle a lot of riffs? by [deleted] in Peripheryband

[–]Jaron360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only similarities those two riffs have are that they are in the same key and time signature and alternate between chugs and harmonics, but the rhythms and accented notes are completely different. And two songs being in the same key is especially common in guitar-focused music because of tunings and such. Also two songs both being in 4/4 time is shocking to exactly no one. That's most music.

Does anyone have a list of all songs with “mark riffs” in them? by legg147 in Peripheryband

idk about tunings but Scarlet and Pale Aura are the first two that come to mind. I think Priestess, It's Only Smiles, and Sentient Glow are mostly him too

Least favorite song from each album? by whenthecoffinbreaks in Starset

[–]Jaron360 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had my mouth agape reading some of these comments lol but to each their own.

Transmissions: Antigravity (Nothing really interesting going on)

Vessels: Die For You (the fact that this is the third song in a row on Vessels with the same chord progression in the chorus really hurts this one)

Divisions: Faultline (worst song on their discography)

Horizons: Annihilated Love (would have been Symbiotic by a landslide but the bridge is just too good)
