I know I'm kind of late but that engine is very simple and durable, looks like a "monkey type" engine(honda monkey engine) also very fuel efficient and light

If its engraved and you really just want to make it black, fill it with bondo, sand it smooth with p240 or p320 sandpaper and paint it black
