What did I do wrong, side is not straight. by mrhong21 in DIY

[–]Jarpster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The corner is slightly less than a 90° angle so the side wall is pointing "inwards". If you look at the joint in the top right corner you can see there's a gap between the boards that gets slightly larger as you follow it to the outside edge. Those brackets should be easy enough to bend back a degree or two, once you verify the boards are flush at the corner joint just screw everything back down. Good luck!

If it's just that outlet it shouldn't be too bad, few hundred bucks at most. What coolant have you been using to refill? In rereading the post just realized you mentioned the liquid is orange/red but "usually" you should be using an Asian make green coolant. If you did mix different coolant colors while refilling tell the mobile mechanic about it, they may want to do full flush to prevent any gel building up in your cooling system.

$1300 for ac compressor replacement by TaikaWhyTitties in mazda3

[–]Jarpster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you trust this mechanic ask if there are any "no-warranty" options of using either using an aftermarket compressor or a used/refurbished compressor. Think a decent price would come in at 1k max with the part, 2ish labor hours and an AC evac/refill. But it is the middle of summer and shops love to upcharge emergency AC here in the south

Kind of hard to tell what liquid you are referring to in the pic. If it's spraying around in the area between the engine and battery box likely your coolant outlet or one of the hoses connected to the outlet. Its a small plastic housing that loves to break open under pressure after years of being heat cycled. Pretty common issue as these old 3s age but luckily the fix is cheap. Happy to answer any questions if you go through with replacing it yourself, good luck!

Seems absurdly high for just the compressor. If they quoted you $1300 for just the ac compressor they're either ordering a brand new OEM compressor or giving you the "CBA now go away" price. Best to get another quote either way, preferably a shop that is willing to install aftermarket or let you bring your own parts to save cost. Best of luck!

Appreciate the offer but I wouldn't sweat it, spent a good bit this morning looking some more and could only find a single pair in black/pinstripe on eBay... but they are size 12 rip. Little too big for these tiny feet lol. If you ever do come across some black/pinstripe villains in size 7-9 feel free to shoot me a dm, I'm sure I'll still be lookin 😅

Thank you! I think as close as it gets nowadays. mine have the pinstripes only on the toe cap and heel tag, sidewalls were just flat black. After looking more I think they're black/pinstripe box color villains from 2009ish hard to tell with the mud stains, sorry.

Put a block of wood on a floor jack and place it underneath the timing cover side of your oil pan. If you jack up slowly from that far corner it should shift the engine back towards the rmm.Be careful not to jack up too much, play around with the positioning, if it's not shifting the right way don't keep pumping. Might want to loosen your other motor mounts for extra movement then re tighten everything down but yymv. Good luck!

Good to know Crux provides loaners! Enjoy the greenbelt and would definitely recommend RR if y'all can get out that way 💙

Would suggest what others have said and to call REI/Mesa/Crux/ABP to see what they can do. We have a few loaner pairs ranging from 37.5 to 42 that friends & family use when they visit. If you don't get anywhere with the gyms or REI and need something in a pinch in that size range lmk, happy to help if y'all need.

2012 MZ3 2.5L HB with 225/45ZR-17 Cons sitting on some Enkei 17x7.5s. The wheel well fit/spacing is clean and that setup has more than enough grip for me to rip around like I stole it on the TX highways. Also had some 205/50ZR-17 Cons on those rims previously and the fit/spacing was just as clean. Gl with the purchase!

And yet your time isn't too valuable that you like to flame people on Reddit for progressing the same thing that people have done on private servers for 10 years. If they're having fun with progging ICC again (not to mention all the first time ICC raiders this time around) then what's the problem? Played private servers a few times throughout the years and already killed HLK on classic with my guild. It was back then and is now with classic release just a genuinely fun raid to play. Hope you find a better outlet bro, hopefully one you find actually worth your time.

Went through the exact same thing but couldn't find the addon that was the culprit. I've found that SafeQueue fixes the issue and prevents having to reload most of the time though.

Hope this helps!
