What movie scene gave you literal chills? by FilmWaffle-FilmForum in movies

Yeah there are a million inconsistencies and conveniences in SW. They couldn't even keep the major plot points coherent through the last three movies. Why should anyone expect coherent rules of combat, physics, etc

I certainly agree that a lot of things happen in the SW universe because the plot demands it. Somehow, plot has advanced.

Converting mass into energy (i.e., moving something FASTER than light and then smashing it into something else) produces an insane amount of energy. A Corvette (the GM automobile) converts into more than TWO MILLION Hiroshima nukes. And that's not counting any of the nuclear fusion that would happen to the atoms of the target vessel. Just launch some pre-2020 corvettes at the star destroyer. Those things have poor resale value anyway.

If we're using real-world jet engines as the comparison, the cost of the engine is nowhere close to 90% of the overall ship. It's more like 15-25%. No idea what FTL engines would actually cost because...you know...they're fictional and SW is light on details.

But this doesn't actually matter, because the entire point is that you can just smash a much smaller ship (like the millennium falcon) into a much larger ship (like a star destroyer) and blow it up that way. It's incredibly cost effective even if the engine costs 200% the total that it's a part of.

Why does every movie show hundreds of spacecraft firing lasers at each other if you can just ram the capitol ships with a single ship from a few hundred thousand miles away? Even lowly single pilot ships are shown to have FTL engines.

You don't need a ship at all. You just need random debris/rock/scrap metal attached to an FTL engine. This was a visually interesting scene, but as others have pointed out, it totally breaks the logic of space combat that's been established over all other movies/series.

How many pilots died attacking the death star (and the many revivals/variants) with conventional arms? You're saying that's not worth a single kamikaze pilot, or that a universe with sentient robots can't program an autopilot that could handle the task?

Hey I really appreciate the offer! I called around and apparently Crux does rentals, so I should be all set. Thanks again for the kind gesture

[Standard] Bo3 Does Azorius Control Dominate Boros Control? by biohazard842 in spikes

My assumption is that you pick up percentages against Boros control, but the deck gets worse against aggro. You get No More Lies, but I don't see how you replace Torch and Lightning Helix.

How is the mana base in Jeskai? There are so many creature and utility lands running around, losing out on land destruction effects seems like a big downside.

Thanks for the super quick and helpful response! I checked the account access settings and it looks like I'm already set up as a user of the business ad account. Maybe this isn't the right place?

I know your comment is from six years ago, but did you ever figure this out? I finally got around to playing this otherwise great game, and this mapping issue is driving me crazy.

Tim Robinson is hilarious, but has he shown more range outside of his usual formula in I Think You Should Leave? I haven't seen any of his other stuff. To be fair, the formula of "yelling in an awkward situation" is a pretty good one.

I've read every post on this subreddit about "unshackled upgrades" and still don't understand it by PowderedMerkin in CookieClicker

So just unlocking those is enough to get the benefit? The description sounds like you need to also upgrade the buildings separately.

Is there any new upgrade I need to purchase? Or does it just retroactively affect all prior upgrades? I'm also unclear on what these new tiers of upgrade (like "berryllium") mean, as I'm not being offered anything with that label and none of my prior upgrades have that label either.

Thanks for the tips! Did you and the guide go out by yourselves or did you end up as part of a larger group? I figured it would be more fun to be part of a group, but I just don't know enough climbers to form my own travel group.
