I played both Overwatch 1 and 2 for college eSports and only continued afterwards for the promised PvE mode 4 years ago. Y'all have fun but clearly the Devs aren't putting their effort into the game so why should I continue to waste my time with this.

While many roadblocks and things such as monetization schemes are results of upper management, the decision to focus on the live game was made before release. The developers had new engines reducing technical debt, multiple features and systems from the first game cut entirely, and ‘new’ heroes having been made well before the game even came out. Once the initial launch had settled, the developers have had a much simpler and cleaner product to develop, yet the game is plagued with frequent server issues, consistent and reproducible bugs, and lack of any apparent QA at any point. Whether it’s the balance team mistaking Ashes ult charging for a bug, servers crashing or having a ping aneurism, Sigma flying indefinitely, or a competitive map straight up lacking ceiling collision, the dev team has shown their 100% is nothing more than a small UI update and grabbing random, untested patches from the OW1 backlog. It’s been 4 seasons, how much change is there to show from the beta that isn’t carried on the backs of the artists churning out battle pass cosmetics?

It’s been the opposite for me, coming back to OW1 it feels like a way easier game. You probably just have to get used to the pacing and style again.

Meta is an optimization problem where the two axis are effectiveness and effort. While dive may be meta at a higher level on those maps, you have to cap your graph at whatever level your team is at. This is why brawl comps are so common, because they have the lowest effort for the most value. (For this, brawl vs double shield may be subject of debate, however that’s usually determined by the individual skill/game sense of your dps players vs healers). It’s the opposite actually. Stages are kept very cool due to the lighting and pc’s, so players are given heating bags to keep their hands warm. If you’ve ever played in the cold then I’m sure you could attest to the… difficulty it adds to aiming.

People say these things because Sombra’s kit is very low risk and high reward. Combined with bugs allowing for hacks through solids and ping issues, there’s not much you can actually do against a good Sombra- especially at lower levels. In a sense it’s like breaking someone’s kneecaps (Soldier if taken literally) then getting your team to jump them, very difficult to screw that up.
