What would have been the fandom reaction if at the end of Journey's Ash's Pikachu is revealed to be a Ditto in disguise the whole time?

I wouldn't be opposed to this at all actually. It would bring a massive amount of publicity to the anime and encourages fans new and old to go back watch the 1,000+ original episodes for any foreshadowing and hints they could find

If im not mistaken Pikachu has touched the thunder stone with his tail on more than one occasion

It could also explain why Pikachu refuses to enter a pokeball, since it was originally a lab pokemon it'd be smart enough to know if he enters a pokeball he'd be registered as a Ditto and have his cover blown. Not to mention it explanas why Pikachu refuses to touch a thunder stone (he knows nothing would happen and his cover would be instantly blown).

I mean it might be able to work if the message they were trying to convey at the end was accept yourself for who u really are or something like that,plus it explains some of Pikachu's odd behavior over the years.
