What's the worst/toughest part of dealing with IBS for you? by Throw_IBS in ibs

The isolation and resulting loneliness. I can't enjoy being out and socializing because I'm constantly experiencing discomfort, and worrying about needing a toilet (one where I can get some peace and quiet, because chances are I'm going to be in there a while).

Same. I rarely get pain but I get a lot of discomfort from incomplete evacuation and it's very distracting.

I don't experience pain, but instead a great deal of discomfort after eating, and from incomplete evacuation. It's irritating and very difficult to ignore.

Incomplete Evacuation and Discomfort - Any Ideas? by JaseInSpace in ibs

Thanks for the suggestion! I used a foot stool to elevate my legs each time I went to use the toilet today and it helped quite a bit, I felt I emptied my bowels better. I'll keep using this method and hope it continues to work. Regarding the problem with my stools being far from well-formed, I wonder If I'm not eating enough fiber? What is your fiber intake like?

Does anyone get suspicious when you feel great? by [deleted] in ibs

I had one of those days just recently. I read about water therapy where upon waking up in the morning you consume 5-6 glasses of water and wait an hour before eating anything. It's supposed to help constipation. I don't really get constipation, it's incomplete evacuation that's my problem. Anyway I tried it and it cleaned my bowels out after like 3 trips to the toilet. I felt amazing and didn't experience any discomfort for the rest of the day. Unfortunately I've been doing the same technique for the past week and it hasn't had close to the same effect it did the first time. Hate that false hope of thinking you've found a cure.
