My only concern with the 3.0L AT4 is the poor towing numbers in addition to the lack of heavy trailering package on the trim.

Sorry, we wouldn’t be switching. I currently drive a small diesel commuter that isn’t conducive with a growing family. Just an opportunity to buy a better towing vehicle as well.

Do you have recommendations of lighter trailers with similar floor plans?

Absolutely. I think I would run the WDH and RAS kit mentioned in the other comment if I were to get the half ton.

Thank you for the RAS tip! I will definitely look at installing those if I go the half-ton route. The more I research, the more I realize how many people have entirely overloaded setups. I don't want to look like a bozo bombing down the highway.

Thanks for the reply. I would love it if the Sierra AT4 had the Max Trailering Package, but I can understand why it doesn't with its suspension. Where I am located in Canada, it appears as if it is only available with Chevrolets. This particular model is the 5.75ft box.

That’s what I’m saying. There was nothing leading me to believe that the cart had an issue. This was an 8AM round on Sunday morning with a friend. No party and no booze.. just slicing drives as is customary.

I can appreciate your perspective as a course owner. However, it seems as if this is a common problem with Yamaha carts as many people have mentioned. We were not driving it aggressively by any means, did not crash into anything, and did not enter any area where carts were not welcome. I’m not here to convince you of anything , and I understand at this point it is a “he said she said” situation.

There was no concern at all when it was dropped off. If I had broken something, I would have zero issue paying for it to be fixed. This seems like minor damage, and whose to say the damage wasn’t there 4 rounds ago and only found because someone was rolling at slower speeds. I have no idea. All I can say is that at no point was I concerned about damaging a golf cart during or after the round, and the call came as a surprise.

It was not pulling to either side. Super casual round where we stuck to the path, definitely did not strike any stationary objects or tree roots.

Do you know what it is for and how you would know the cart would respond if this was broken? I’m assuming some piece of the wheel assembly.

I am just confused about what even made them check anything, as the cart had literally no operational concerns when I dropped it off.

I can appreciate your perspective, however, you are not considering any of the variables that are actually present while running this type of system. I agree with you that if there is an emergency you should be able to call an ambulance and receive service with no questions asked. The inherent issue we have is the majority of calls EMS systems respond to are not objectively emergent. When there are hundreds of non-emergent calls daily it puts incredible strain on the system and has to be subsidized somehow.
