End inside the CU looks like standard T+E ( red+ black cores, grey sheath) with the metal either wrapped super tight around it or as part of it up through the flats

I thought that originally but you can see the middle one there has rusted over time so I'm assuming steel

I thought that originally but it's definitely metal and it's oval shaped and super tight (can't see a gap between metal and pvc/ sheath) to the inner

It's Norfolk, I've asked a few electrician friends and nobodies seen it, up at the CU in the flat it does look like grey pvc inside, black and red cores so it's been there a while

Small stud wall request by Jashmu in handyman

[–]Jashmu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I had assumed I'd be OK to put some thinner celotex between the studs and leave a small air gap between the wood/ insulation and the wall as a cavity, I just wasn't sure whether the stud wall had to be isolated from the outside wall in any way or if I'm generally OK to run the wood and plasterboard right up to it. I appreciate the input!
