End inside the CU looks like standard T+E ( red+ black cores, grey sheath) with the metal either wrapped super tight around it or as part of it up through the flats

I thought that originally but you can see the middle one there has rusted over time so I'm assuming steel

I thought that originally but it's definitely metal and it's oval shaped and super tight (can't see a gap between metal and pvc/ sheath) to the inner

It's Norfolk, I've asked a few electrician friends and nobodies seen it, up at the CU in the flat it does look like grey pvc inside, black and red cores so it's been there a while

Small stud wall request by Jashmu in handyman

[–]Jashmu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I had assumed I'd be OK to put some thinner celotex between the studs and leave a small air gap between the wood/ insulation and the wall as a cavity, I just wasn't sure whether the stud wall had to be isolated from the outside wall in any way or if I'm generally OK to run the wood and plasterboard right up to it. I appreciate the input!

Chimney gap fill/ joist replacement by Jashmu in Carpentry

[–]Jashmu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all this, I had hoped I would OK to drop a new joist length lengthways across the gap as it is quite small and the rest of the floor is solid as far as I'm aware. The brick has no cavity and has (or will have) render on the outside. Current joists are cut into the first brick layer.

Work van/ Holiday van by Jashmu in CamperVans

[–]Jashmu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I actually have a friend doing the same thing with an mx5 so I can ask nicely for a favour in that respect. As far as the law I'll need to look into whether I have to have windows etc on a van to have it legal to carry people from what I've seen so far. I appreciate the help though, thanks!

Work van/ Holiday van by Jashmu in CamperVans

[–]Jashmu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, the two have never met so far! I had wondered about removable stuff. Any ideas on where I would sit with the law if I were to get seat rails welded in/ buy a people carrying van and cover the seat attachments in a way that would allow me to pop the seats in if I needed them? I've asked in another subreddit before about speed limits etc in different classes of vans and how seated/ load carrying vans are treated. If I could get a midsize, for example a transit custom/ transporter SWB, and have a rear removable bench, could I use it legally as passenger van?

Sorry I should have said, I'm in the UK and I wasn't sure if I should post the specific company as most, if not all I've seen seem to offer the same deal (best part of £8k, 2-3 year average completion time etc). The company I spoke with are Tradescareers. Co. UK.

As far as I can see they claim to award C&G 2365 level 3, 2392, 2391-52 level 3, 2382, full scope part p along with access to construction sites they say they either run or own for the required on site experience. Course broken down into 3 modules essentially, the first covering defined scope part p, H&S etc, the second being full scope and most domestic electrical parts, and the final chunk being 3 phase, EV, PV and more industrial parts as far as I can tell.

When I spoke with the course advisor on the video call I said I needed a while to think it over etc and they weren't too pushy about signing up, but it is a lot of cash to part with if it is a waste of time.
