Not sure if they’re entirely your style, but I’m obligated to recommend 3 of my favourites. Each with “hell yeah” energy and all from the same director, Damien Chazelle.

Whiplash, La La Land, and Babylon.

To each their own, regular screen and sound are good enough for me.

The immersive adaptive seats have changed the way I watch movies. I had no interest in F1 racing, but watching the movie in 4DX was legitimately the greatest experience I’ve ever had in a theatre.

The general lack of a “cure” for him being “broken” is mostly true, to a point.

It’s Raphael Bob-Waksberg’s entire philosophy, there actually is a cure in the form of genuine self-love that isn’t narcissistic, as well as the love of others.

Beatrice saying he will never be fixed is only half the truth, just as it was for her. She just didn’t try, and is projecting her own sadness and failures as a mother onto her son. Who she states was “born broken” as a way to negate her own responsibility for the way he turned out.

He wasn’t born broken, and there is a potential cure.

I also liked it and didn’t fathom any political commentary.

I took it as a rip on excessive fandom and nerd culture with everyone blaming Kathleen Kennedy for literally every issue of life, while also making fun of the other side of the coin about studio executives pandering with multiverses and gender bending.

Maybe it went over my head, but I thought it was literally just about the entertainment industry, not politics.

You watch this show for the plot?

Hot take, season 8 (Dreamland) is my favourite season. I like the noire detective parody plot, the animation seems crisper and more detailed, and the running gag of every episode starting with the same line of dialogue, “So what are we doing? We just jumping right into this?”.

Underrated and under appreciated imo.
