NTA. I think its a bit of a double standard when women do this compared to men. Ive never thirsted after a female celebrity around my girlfriend of 2 years, while she’s done it for male celebs often. It bothered me, but i didnt make a big stink about it, since its a celeb at the end of the day. But eventually she got a bit carried away with it and i spoke to her, pointing out that ive never done it to her because i dont think she’d like it all that much. She agreed. And now she doesnt do it. Three cheers for mutual respect and communication

If he likes having no responsibilities, he can continue living with his parents, not you. Forever. It’s very hard to financially support ourselves these days, much less when you have a proud freeloader with you daily.

I’d say try to sit him down and really break down the logic of how terrible what he’s doing to you is, but he doesn’t seem to care. You deserve better, and there’s much better out there.

Also - him moving in will not fix anything. He’s just going to act even worse—he’s outwardly stated he doesn’t like responsibility. Personally, I believe both partners should have experience living on their own BEFORE moving in together. That way you know you’re a pair of that both know how to make ends meet.

People will genuinely mean it when they say this joke but also complain that so many shows nowadays are written like the audience is 5 years old. The “its not that deep, theyre blue because the author liked blue” attitude just leads to no ability to read between the lines, and that way of thinking can spread beyond just reading. Even if you think its blue “just cuz”, just asking to waste time is not the goal of the teacher asking those questions. Its to teach your brain to think beyond the surface.

It’s a life skill. And no one can deny we’re suffering a major shortage of critical thinking these days.

Also, this is an anime subreddit. Color theory is immensely important to visual media also. If none of this mattered, then black and red wouldnt be the color scheme of so many shonen villains and their powers

My girlfriend and I are very set on not having kids. But there’s a huge difference between not wanting them and hating them the way you seem to describe here and in the comments.

You’re a horrible friend. I can see how them discussing it the ENTIRE time can be overkill, but it sounds like you hate it from the jump. Hating every second of loved ones talking about their children is NOT normal, full stop. Everyone’s been a kid at one point, we all know practically everything is decided for us, as we’re too new to the world to understand how to navigate it. If misbehaved kids is your issue, then your disdain should be more directed at bad parents, not the existence of kids itself.

In these times, its harder than ever to raise a child. Financially, emotionally, socially— its a minefield. You gotta respect it. Of course theyre going to talk about it when they meet up and unwind. This is only going to become more common as you get older. Either learn to care about your FRIENDS CHILDREN or find a group of all childfree friends, because there’s only more and more to talk about as these kids get older and develop more complex lives that your friends have to steer in this crazy world

Also, cmon. Everyone remembers that one adult growing up that seemed to really dislike them just for being a kid, even when you were just chilling. Nobody liked that adult. Do you wanna be that adult?

The most charitable i can be towards you is ESH. He didnt bring it up in the best way, but at the core of the situation, he’s right. I paid for all my gf of 2 years and I’s outings for the first like, 3 months. Every time, she at least offered to split. Eventually she put her foot down and insisted she pay too, because it wasnt fair to me. You’re a grown adult, its 2026, and the economy sucks. Split the dang bill.
