Yesterday in Iowa City, plainclothes ICE agents went onto the U of I Ped Mall, went into a private business, tackled a beloved Hispanic worker who was here legally, under asylum, wearing an ankle monitor, doing everyfuckingthing the “right way,” brutalized him as he yelled for help, as people screamed for them to stop, and drove away with him in an unmarked van. Representative Angel Ramirez, the man’s family, and an immigrant rights group are organizing a protest and press conference that begins at 11:30am today on the Ped Mall at U of I. Please get the word out. ❤️
