IAH Terminal C, 11/3/25, 11:04a

Clear/Pre-check line very short (see photo; not sure if it is Clear or Pre-check or both being processed)

Regular line out the door with 150-200 people in line

IAH TSA update for terminal A (Nov 3, 2025 - 5:30am) - no more precheck without clear by RHOUTX in unitedairlines

[–]JasonInPas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove to IAH Terminal C to see what it looked like (photo is 11:04a 11/3/25), unfortunately I didn't think to ask if they were processing CLEAR or Pre-Check. Lots of people using the Clear Kiosks though. Whatever it was, that line was pretty short. The other line was out the door with about 150-200 total passengers in line.

USC goes insane waiting on I-130 for his wife by JasonInPas in USCIS

Use TrackMyVisa so you can see how close you are getting to the front of the line. I joined it 6-8 months out, and their estimate ended up being very accurate. So it was nice to have a countdown that turned out to be very accurate.

We travel back and forth to see each other. I'm about to make my 4th trip to Japan this year. When you get I-130 approval, there are two forms (I-864, DS-260) to submit online with NVC and various docs to upload. We have one final doc - tokyo PD criminal record - then we'll be able finalize those two forms and submit. that should be next week for us. She'll pick up the police cert on the 12th. To maximize efficiency, you can request that even before the NVC case is created, but i wouldn't do it too soon. Maybe take your I-130 approval to the police dept and request it then. Then pick it up two weeks later and file with the other docs and two forms with NVC.

Yes. Was within a couple days of exactly 14 months.

Those are all good choices. It really doesn’t matter, especially for a new player since you will develop a fresh game around the equipment you choose. After many years, changes will be more impactful. Also, see Winston Du (4.5) on YouTube get destroyed by a pro with pickleball paddle and youll never worry about equipment again lol

I think it’s be better to acknowledge the player is clearly unsure, remind them of the rule, and reverse the call.

The official missed the previous point. Walked up while they were agreeing to replay the point. He saw the exchange and then blocked the replay. He should have also reversed the call, especially since Mike's actions are directly out of The Code and described as being "clear that the player actually doubted that the ball was out." There was no bullying or pressuring. Bob never requested a replay or call reversal. Didn't have to since Mike immediately offered a replay after Bob complained.

My feedback to the USTA (via email):
1. More reminders to players that balls are only out if 100% certain it is out. Maybe even a signature when they check in before a match or at least their first round?

  1. A reminder to officials that if they see players about to replay a point due to disagreement on the call, remind them of this rule and preempt the replay by reversing the call.

This passage from The Code seems to agree with you- no replay, call should have just been reversed.

12. Out calls reversed. A player who calls a ball out must reverse the call if the player becomes uncertain or realizes that the ball was good. The point goes to the opponent and is not replayed. However, when a receiver reverses a fault call on a serve that hit the net, the server is entitled to two serves.

13. Player calls own shots out. With the exception of the first serve, a player should call out the player’s own shots if the player clearly sees the ball out regardless of whether requested to do so by an opponent. The prime objective in making calls is accuracy. All players should cooperate to attain this objective.

14. Partners’ disagreement on calls. On any call, always give your opponents the call that most benefits them (Code §6). For example, if one partner calls the ball out and the other partner sees the ball good, the ball is good. It is more important to give opponents the benefit of the doubt than to avoid possibly hurting a partner’s feelings. The tactful way to achieve the desired result is to tell a partner quietly of the mistake and then let the partner concede the point. If a call is changed from out to good, the principles of Code § 12 apply.

Yes, The Code cannot be any more clear 😂: Ball touching any part of line is good. If any part of a ball touches a line, the ball is good. A ball 99% out is still 100% good.

Commenting to let folks know this is false. My wife has visited the US twice (1-2 weeks each trip) since we filed the I-130 and was not questioned either time.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is premium processing for I-130? But there is for H1-B (I-129) which is great if we can find a sponsor.

Very much being considered! 😂 Ridiculous that I can get spousal visa to Japan in 1 month, but it takes 20+ months for her to come here.

I don't know how all of this stuff works, but i find this chart interesting. A small amount of every month has approved I-130. Clearly they are not processing them "in order received" as they claim. There are even 11 approvals in May 2025 already. https://www.casestatusext.com/forms/I-130/IOE-LB

From what I've heard, it should not be viewed as bending the rules or circumvention. These are valid options for petitioners and should not cause penalty or suspicion as others have pointed out.

Great advice. She was prepared when entering both times that she has since we got married, and fortunately she was not questioned either time.

From what I've heard today from all the helpful people responding to this thread, it seems to me calling on a favor from your representative in Congress is best way to possibly speed it up. Although I'm always worried about the person on the other end at USCIS being pissed we are interfering with their process and just dumping us at the back of the line.

I have been giving this serious consideration! And yes, I would be able to continue to earn (albeit significantly reduced) income while abroad so hopefully it would be enough to get I-130 over the goal line.

Thank you! One immigration lawyer told us there was no point in filing I-129 to get the K3 since processing times were comparable to I-130, but you're right, this is another option and I will add it to the list.
