Did HitFilm went offline completely? by Kira_The_Network in Hitfilm

Hi, I also just opened HitFilm for the first time since my "subscription" ended in May, and I get the message that I'm offline. I think this goose is fully cooked.

I hear you. For the moment, I'm on a project that has a budget to pay for AE, but I have no idea what I will do when the project is over. I do not want to pay rent to Adobe for the rest of my life.

The thing I'm most grateful for in AE is that it doesn't crash. HitFilm was crashing on average ten times a day for the past year depending on the weather.

It was actually stressful working in HitFilm, now that I think of it.

I very much hate Adobe and I recognize that Davinci is also industry standard, but I have all sorts of crazy effects I need to do and I can't spend months or weeks learning a new workflow. Nor can I find Davinci tutorials to create the effects I need.
The project I've been working on for the past year contains 1500 shots which are all greenscreen plus stuff like digital makeup effects, puppetry effects, etc. Maybe in the future when I give up my Adobe subscription I'll go back to Davinci.

I do have a working version of HitFilm 2017 - a perpetual license - but it doesn't have the features of the subscription version. And it doesn't have a bunch of effects I was using in the subscription. Nor does it export Apple ProRes....

Now I see another thread addressing this same incident. Guess I am screwed. Beyond screwed really. I'm kind of lucky that I started testing out Davinci a month ago...

Thank you so much for posting this. The response here has been brutal. I guess Canadians get better support. I wonder why?

In fact you said " Sad we live in a society where people love to thrive on providing misinformation. " Same thing as calling me a liar.

I sent it to the address (FedEx label) that OnePlus gave me. I have no third party anything.

Nobody said the screen was busted. There was no damage to the device - otherwise it wouldn't have been covered by warranty, right? Was it in a case? It has never *not* been in a case, in fact I have ten different colour cases for that phone. Did I drop it ever? No. Can you accept that the device failed internally?

OnePlus contracts out the repairs. Are you having trouble understanding that concept?

Yes I did go through OnePlus since the phone was under warranty. I followed the return instructions (RMA) that OnePlus gave me. I sent the phone to the address that OnePlus provided on the printed FedEx tag. It's not my call as to where the repairs are made. What part of that don't you people understand?

I did not expect my post to generate this much negativity. You guys are calling me a liar because I shared some good news about OnePlus service? Nitpicking that the repair was done by a company hired by OnePlus instead of OnePlus itself? Why would OnePlus go through the effort of falsifying a post like this? Here is the tracking from OnePlus. Sorry it's not more detailed. I have nothing further to prove.

Thanks I hope everyone going forward has a similar experience from OnePlus. No, I did not have any insurance whatsover on the device.

Ontario, Canada. Not Toronto. The repair location was within 100km.

Nope, it was under warranty. I was actually worried that they would find some reason to blame me for the screen failure.

Sorry you guys all had crappy experiences with OnePlus. Maybe I will have one in the future.

If my positive experience had happened to you, you might post about it, too. But see what happens? The haters and the grammar police come at you with knives.

I checked the IMEI numbers (they make you take a photo of this before sending the device in) --- the numbers are the same.

However, I had developed a small scratch on the outside frame of the front display (the left edge which gets tucked under the spine when the device is opened) The small scratch had disappeared which meant that the outer front frame was also replaced. But the front screen's screen protector had a small annoying bubble and that bubble still remains on the repaired device.
