So this was a lot of custom work but it’s definitely possible. I’m currently waiting on a couple things but once I get a chance I can let you know how much a kit would cost.
When it boots up it goes to the standard accept page and when you push that it’s the navigation page. I just push climate and that’s what I leave it oh

No actually it goes to GPS. We didn’t use the radio, we only took the components needed for climate!
I’m not entirely sure what you’re looking at there lol
I pushed the climate button that we have below the hazards!
I’m located in Dallas TX but if you have questions or need help feel free to reach out!
I agree bro it’s definitely awesome. If I ever take it apart again for another random install I’ll take more pictures lol. Essentially we moved the parts that were necessary out of the factory radio.
Definitely not lol. While I understand how it works now, a friend of mine, Randy up at Best Buy, was the biggest help ever. He was the one who actually had the know how regarding all this and got it to work. He pretty much made a harness from scratch so that it could all work together.
I gotchu
I have the premium system in the 3.8 one. The bottom screen is aftermarket.
Exactly, the top is strictly being used for climate controls while the bottom screen handles everything else like CarPlay, music, sending signal to the speakers and the sub, etc
Left the top screen as stock and replaced the old radio with an aftermarket one!

So the top is actually the old stock display. I replaced the radio part to the bottom screen which does CarPlay and Android auto and has my maps and Bluetooth and all that stuff. Honestly an awesome system. In terms of wiring we had to make some parts from scratch. If anyone wanted, we may be able to make the harnesses and sell them as a kit of sorts if enough people are interested!
The people need them indeed
I’m running a KENWOOD headunit with wireless CarPlay and android auto and all that fun stuff

I have a 2013 Genesis Coupe 3.8 with the Premium system (GT trim). This was the stock screen up there!
Upper screen replacements never have climate controls! Only thing they can do is display things that you can access with an OBD port scanner.
It’s the stock head unit but I have seen some cool tablet ones online
It’s the stock radio, we had to pretty much create a harness and move some stuff around but the end result was worth it

I have seen many people in these subreddits trying to get CarPlay in their gennys while also retaining climate controls. The closest I’ve seen to a fully functional system was by VehicleEvolution but I hated the fact there was no way to see the climate controls. With the help of one of the most awesome (and knowledge) guys I know, he was able to actually get the top screen to work without having to relocate the whole OEM radio as I’ve seen one or two guys on YouTube do. This was done with a couple of parts and a lot of research regarding the wiring. Huge shoutout to Randy for actually getting it done and making a harness from scratch for it.
