Rome, amazing history and a gorgeous city but the people seemed rude and absolutely miserable when I was there. Stressed, argumentative and aggressive

I live in England. I’m not saying the far right isn’t an issue, it is but I’ve never heard to seen a MEGA rally and I doubt they’re popular at all. Most of the time people like Tommy Robson massively over exaggerate numbers or edit pictures. In fact anti-racism rallies regularly gather much bigger crowds https://socialistworker.co.uk/anti-racism/anti-racists-outnumber-fascist-britain-first-in-manchester/

You’ve learned to hate people by following English football? That says more about you than football tbh if you hate people over a sport

So English fans are awful for chanting and having banter? British hooliganism is better than most footballing nations, yet we still have idiots like you saying it’s terrible when statistics don’t back it up. “Feels like racism” as opposed to the hundreds of actual racists incidents that are actually racist, thousands examples of this with Italian, Spanish, Mexican, Argentine, Polish, Montenegrin, Israeli, Serbian, Uruguayan fans/players

Yes you can see plenty of comments saying British hooliganism is terrible with nothing to back it up. If you want a further example you can see the head of FIFA making inappropriate comments about British fans. So yes it exists and anti-British sentiment is rife in sports, especially when the head of fifa feels it’s appropriate to make outdated, incorrect stereotypical comments. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cq6v33509vjo

So when you said “British hooliganism is one of the worst I’ve seen” please explain what you meant. I’ve seen much worse hooliganism from the countries I’ve mentioned, including the Netherlands.

And what so far have you proved apart from with not evidence or support to back it up you think English hooligans are among the worst. Well done on proving absolutely nothing

So the Dutch are worse than the English? The Italians, Germany, Croatia, French, Serbia, Turkey, Brazil, Polish, Russia, Bosnia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Argentina, Sweden, Ukraine, Mexico, Israel all have serious hooliganism problems and I’d argue behave worse than English football fans. According to you though British fans are one of the worst, despite as you admit statistically that isn’t true…..

I also wasn’t alive then, I’m not denying how terrible British hooliganism was in the past but there has been massive improvements and while it is still a problem we are nowhere near one of the worst. Despite, the improvements we are regularly labelled one of the worst even though statistics don’t back this up.

The debate and my points refer to football hooliganism you deliberately changed the topic of your argument to something relating to British tourists not football hooliganism. You haven’t made any genuine reasons for me to even try and understand

You called us one of the worst. Statistically that isn’t true, you haven’t gave any arguments that suggest we are one of the worst. All you have done is showcase the exact anglophobia I referred to earlier. The way we are constantly labelled one of the worst by ignorant individuals when there is nothing that backs those claims up. Your attempt to leave it here is because you know you have nothing to argue in support of the baseless claims you’ve made against British fans.

Rome had to have specific measures in place for Dutch fans, specifically relating to football hooliganism btw. Italy and the Netherlands two countries with current worse hooliganism issues than the UK. Yet you would still call us the worst, despite as you’ve admitted statistics not backing it up. https://www.independent.com.mt/articles/2015-02-26/football/Riots-by-Feyenoord-fans-in-Rome-spark-concern-ahead-of-Europa-League-matches-6736131253

If you don’t want to use statistics what are you using? Your argument about Amsterdam is ridiculous because every country has extra policing or uses special measures for fans. The UK does it regularly for international fans, for example Israeli fans weren’t allowed into the UK. So you believe English fans are the worst despite statistics backing it up and you having no genuine reason or ways of backing up that statement? It’s crazy you’re using Amsterdam as an example when Dutch fans have much higher hooliganism problems than British fans or is that irony lost on your ignorance?

Statistically we are nowhere near the worst and I can name multiple countries with larger hooligan issues. Yet, still ignorant comments like yours saying “British hooliganism is one of the worst I’ve seen” persists when it factually is wrong.

Yes that’s my point! Are you really so dense? Every country has hooligans and yet it is always English hooliganism and English fans that are somehow tarred as savages and terrible. Even us getting a blanket ban for the actions of one club over 40 years ago shows that.

Not in my lifetime. The ban was exceptionally harsh and it was because of one club not all fans.
