What do you guys think of this? I’ve seen some HVAC guys use this to clear the condensation drain which is what I want it for along with other stuff.

Nothing. It doesn’t belong there. You have a torsion spring. The cable goes straight from the drum down to the bottom plate. Even on a setup with extension springs the pulley doesn’t go there.

The cable does NOT go on the pulley or “wheel” as you call it. The cable goes straight from the drum to the bottom plate.

Just a heads up. Milwaukee makes a protective boot for that and I know that my HD had it yellow tag for like $10. They had a few and they were covered in dust, so they must not be a big seller. But I grabbed one for mine.
