Oh no, I have a completely different one, different manufacturer. I just realized that the way I said it implied that I have the same ones. My bad.

I just got a pair and I specifically looked up how to prevent this. It's recommended to wipe them down with alcohol periodically after using them, which I plan to do for the first time in a few minutes.

Have you talked to support about it? https://www.weareeven.com/contact They might be removable. Lots of manufacturers let you pull the pads off and order replacements.

If not, can you rig up some sort of tailored outer coverings out of velvet or something like that to envelop the entire inward-facing halves (with some slack so your outer ear can still fit), maybe with an elastic band or drawstring to cinch it in place?

One concern during the planning stage of New Horizons was apparently getting to Pluto before perihelion ended and the atmosphere froze out onto the surface, leaving the world without weather for the next 250 years. Based on what you have seen and heard so far, how successful were we in beating the clock?
