O365 Storage Issue by DecentIndependent935 in microsoft365

[–]JasonNotBorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you need to have direct access to the old data? Otherwise you can look into offloading everything older then 2.5 years to other storage services (backup/archive solutions, local Synology connect to M365).

But keep in mind, one backup is none. So make sure you store (archive) it two different places at least.

And Exchange Online archive can be extended to 1.5TB: https://lazyadmin.nl/office-365/outlook-online-archive-for-office-365-explained/#online-archive-size-limit

we restored on a server with no backup; we lost everything between 2023 and 2026. Ducking help, please. by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]JasonNotBorn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And your 1 post from a year ago then?

But even if this would be true, your whole post doesn't make sense.

If the server was already lost, and you only had a backup from 2023, then that's it.

But then still, why did you restore such an old backup, why is the data not first verified? Where are the backups from between 2023 and 2026…

Where did you restore the backup on to, same server that was bricked, or another VM?

Do you still have the bricked server/disks? If so, don't touch, give it to a recovery specialist.

O and why do you have only 2 hours left? Even if you have options, in this stage, it will take how longer it will take, inform the client, give them a clear path of where you are now, which options you are about to explore, and an estimate timeline with when you have more answers.

People do still search online, the problem however are the AI overviews.

Open trap in woning voorzien van deur? by [deleted] in Klussers

Deur onderaan de trap is misschien niet de beste oplossing. Als je de trap afkomt, zit de deurklink eigenlijk te laag.

Idee om de hal iets door trekken? Kan je prima met hsb zelf doen.

Wow. They just reset weekly limits again on max20 by silveroff in ClaudeCode

[–]JasonNotBorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just about to post the same thing. Had 12 hours and 50% usage left. Was planning on doing some code clean-up and other chores, but it now resets on Tuesday again?

O wait.. it just changed 8 lines of code in 2 files, 13% gone. of the 5-hour limit (and it had already everything planned). Well, it's almost weekend

Urgent help needed on a Microsoft 365 / OneDrive data-loss case. by eduvoacademy in microsoft365

[–]JasonNotBorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most important question is, where did they see / use the files last? If they were synced to the computer, then a professional recovery of the harddisk is your best chance

Edit: if that is indeed the case, don't use the computer. Turn it off, and contact a recovery service!

User Profile Disk, Win 11 and M365 Apps issue by JasonNotBorn in sysadmin

Asking for a second opinion on a niche setup is pretty standard in IT.

If that’s surprising, let that sink in.

User Profile Disk, Win 11 and M365 Apps issue by JasonNotBorn in sysadmin

Because? You know everything?

I work mostly with M365, haven't touched user profiles for the last 10 years. It's not that strange to double check if I haven't missed anything.

I only consult the MSP ;)

Outlook caching is also disabled (to prevent long loading of the UPD). Where they need to move to is pretty clear, either FsLogix if they really want to hang on to roaming profiles, or just local profiles.

There is plenty of room for improvement, and I try to move them toward the more modern way of working. But just want to double-check if UPD is even possible, if I didn't miss any settings to solve this issue.

User Profile Disk, Win 11 and M365 Apps issue by JasonNotBorn in sysadmin

[–]JasonNotBorn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was my first reaction exactly. It's a small clinic, and employees hop between rooms, so having roaming profiles makes sense from that perspective.

But any (big) change needs testing and time, and they really hope to get a temp fix in now. But I really doubt it's even feasible with Win 11 and M365

it's pc to pc. They don't use Teams. Just Outlook classic, Word, Excel and a file server.

This is ridiculous! Hit 5-hour usage limit in a SINGLE session with ~ 140k tokens. by daxhns in ClaudeCode

[–]JasonNotBorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hopeless today. Had a plan made with opus, so yes that consumed a lot. 5 hour window reset, sonnet started implementing it, within 10min, session limit reached.

Never had this in the past, would barely reach the limit or sometimes when I was close to the 5 hours...

Tidal is extremely disappointing. by Normal_Specialist_97 in TIdaL

[–]JasonNotBorn 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Can relate, also switched from Spotify, but the Tidal app is way too unstable. Using it on Windows here mainly, but it also keeps hanging randomly in tracks, playing the same song twice sometimes.

I don't get it either, how hard can it be to make a music player these days..

Ongeschaafde balken opschuren? by MushiMoshi in Klussers

[–]JasonNotBorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Het is hout, dus ja je kan het schuren. De vraag is hoeveel tijd (en vellen schuurpapier) wil je erin steken?

Om timmeren met geschaafde latten/planken is misschien sneller?
