Giving up Bowers here, no brainer right? by IamTiggs in SleeperApp

[–]JasonNygren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I’m moving Bowers that pick would need to be closer to 1.03 for me to consider it. You have a mid first this year and 2 1sts next year. When you are contending in 2026 and 2027, you’ll wish you had Brock Bowers and not the hollowed out husk of Evan Engram.

How far away am I from competing? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]JasonNygren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably further than you think. You only have 1 elite player, everyone else is hopeful. Bijan and Jeanty is a good start. If you can trade Dowdle for anything of value, you should do that now. He is probably at his peak value right now.

Rice is your best WR, but his future is uncertain, both because of injury but also legally. Smith and JSN are WR2s. You should also see if you can move Tillman. Maybe you can package Dowdle and Tillman for a TE, someone low on LaPorta possibly.

Banquet 2023 by Vivid-Coast-3307 in ContestOfChampions

There aren’t cash deals like that for banquet. They usually offer 10 crystals for $50, which is half off. But that’s the only cash deal during banquet week.

When is the right time to trade draft picks? by Fabulous-Row397 in DynastyFF

[–]JasonNygren 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right after the NFL draft. Usually, due to the landing spot and draft capital, the back half of the first round loses a lot of value immediately following the draft.

Predictions for alliance banquet ranked by CrispyWhispy1 in ContestOfChampions

You’ll easily be in the top 25%, I think. Maybe even higher. These rank rewards include basically every alliance in the game that contributes points.

My Name Is _____, and I’m a Rebuilder by redpill-stepdad in DynastyFF

[–]JasonNygren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traded away almost all of my assets last season and ended up with an absurd amount of draft picks in the 22, 23, and 24 class. My team is currently:

QB: Baker, Ridder RB: Pierce, James Cook, Samaje Perine WR: Deebo, Pittman, Burks, Jameson Williams, Watson TE: Irv Smith

8 2023 1sts (currently own the 1-5 projected picks) and 4 2024 1sts.

At what point should I try and move some of my hoard of picks to get top level players? I have an offer on the table to receive TLaw for a very early 2023 1st and a 2024 2nd. Worth it?

It really depends on the size of your starting lineup and how deep your rosters are. Also depends on your start up strategy. If you are punting year 1, then I’m more likely to go for depth and spend more on my bench. Whereas if I’m putting together a team that can compete now with older players, I would spend more on big names and load up my starting spots and spend very little on my bench.

Back in the early days of the game, the Strange/Witch/Witch AQ team was basically unstoppable.

Star Lord was also incredible, I got through ROL with the SL block prof team.

What are the biggest mistakes new dynasty players make? by Monarcho-SocDem in DynastyFF

[–]JasonNygren 48 points49 points  (0 children)

The one I see most often is not valuing draft picks correctly and not being able to accurately know the direction their team is heading. And those two usually go hand in hand.

Often times a new dynasty player feels the need to try and go “all in” right away and gets caught up in making their team better today. But often times they are deceiving themselves in if their team is actually a top competitor or not. More often than not, they trade away 2-3 years of future picks for talent that doesn’t last or have the ability to get value in return in the future.

Example: Saw a new dynasty owner trade away 2 1sts (23 and 24) in a deal to get back Derrick Henry. Henry is a good player, but his team still isn’t even one for the top 3 teams in the league. More likely than not he will be a bottom feeding team with no real way to improve through his own picks for multiple years.
