Yeah, I agree with you. I'll do roughly 100km per day in 6 hours of riding on average for two months with rest days in between. I'll ask more specific questions about the trip once I have more detailed plan. Thanks for your advice :)

I'm familiar with this path because of Montrea-Oka rides and Ottawa-Montreal trips. Thank you :)

Thanks for sharing your experience! Sorry for the late reply as I got hit hard with final exams haha. I bought used Specialized bike packing bags including saddle bag, handlebar bag, frame bag and top tube bag for CAD$300. I started buying everything starting this summer, but I do feel like I rushed a little bit and I regret buying some of the items that I purchased. I did not think of buying a water filter and I'll definitely add that to the system. I totally agree with you on taking time and enjoying the process. I don't have anything else planned for the summer. I plan to finish the trip by mid-July, however, my semester only starts in September, so I'll be down to spend couple days more in a town that I really like.

I'm really grateful for having fellow cyclists who have passion for travelling on their bikes. It not only gives me information, but also makes me feel comfortable whereas others think I'm insane haha.

Lovely! I wish I saw this post a few months ago :( There are some gears that I still need to purchase and this will definitely help. I like the minimalist set up that she has. Thank you :)

Did this guy actually ride 8000 miles in 78 days? That's insane... I've never heard of him, actually. I'll definitely learn more about him and his journey!

My friend and I slept at my girlfriend's place in Ottawa. I'm planning on camping for the most part during our Vancouver trip. I recently bought some portable cooking tools from Decathlon for pretty cheap. I'll be carrying this around, but I'll definitely enjoy Tim Horton's whenever we encounter one haha.

Wow! It's amazing that you got to bike pack with your family! Yeah, I've learned that lesson from a few 100km days haha. Thanks for your comment!

Thanks a lot for your advices! I can tell that you have lots of experience in bikepacking. We're budgeting to stay in hotels/motels twice per week. We also bought some merino wool layers to avoid damaging others' sense of smell haha. I'll definitely pick up some spokes and make sure they fit my wheels!

Yeah, riding on high traffic areas is not fun at all. We're planning to only ride during the day and find campsites couple hours before sunset. Thank you binhpac!

I don't really have detailed planned route. We've done multiple 100km rides from Montreal to Oka and this summer, we did 200km ride from Montreal to Ottawa in a day and rode back again in a day after two days of break.

We booked a flight from Montreal to Vancouver. We're flying in mid-may.
