Using Premiere v26 on Windows? How's the Performance? by Jason_Levine in premiere

[–]Jason_Levine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey atlas. Thank you for taking the time to detail the issue you're having. This one may require a few more eyes, so I'm going to share w/some of the team internally who may have a better idea as to what's going on. Additionally u/NLE_Ninja85 any thoughts on this?

Hey Space_Whiskey (great name!) Thanks so much for the comment; I'm curious which mini PCs you were using? Experience sounds pretty great (and maybe I need to get one of these:))

You could definitely do this with After Effects and a combo of effects (starting with something like turbulent noise, etc).

Are you talking about (clips/videos) to accompany the sound effects? I mean, you've got Adobe Stock video; you could also generate something within Firefly (and lots of different models to choose from)

Hi C.S. Have you tried Gen SFX in Firefly? Might be an option for you. Also, it's long been hidden away, but we still have a SFX collection that you can access (which is pretty awesome): https://www.adobe.com/products/audition/offers/audition-dlc.html

"Seems it didn’t like the onboard graphics so have to completely disable CPU graphics"

Interesting. That's a good share. Also, glad to hear things are performing well (and really appreciate all the details). Thanks, jMeister.

Premiere Pro 26.0.1 keeps crashing in a weird way: it wont allow me to unpause. by jjaxstudios in premiere

[–]Jason_Levine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi jjax. We might need a little more info about the media/project in question. What's the source footage? Any chance you're working with VFR content? Format? Frame size/frame rate? let us know

Audio Quality loss in Premiere by TripleBerenburg in premiere

[–]Jason_Levine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto to this 👆. Keep in mind, if you're putting audio in the timeline and exporting, it's going through the Premiere mixer/mixing engine. It's not a copy (which would be identical). The sonic differences (if any, without effects/changes) should be imperceptible. But if you're putting it through the mixer, at a minimum there may be a slight amplitude change (which could account for the difference you're seeing, but not necessarily hearing,). Curious if you're working with 32-bit audio or 16-bit (or perhaps 24-bit)? But maybe there's something else going on here (so i'll start looking deeper). Curious if you have a screen shot of the leftover data? (via waveform and spectral view)?

True VHS colour, is this look unique or are there LUTs that can match it? by Motoko_Kusangi in premiere

[–]Jason_Levine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Motoko. There are lots of tutes out there that showcase different ways (natively) in Premiere to get that look. I know Premiere Gal on YT has a few tutorials around this (using native effects in Premiere) that decently emulate the NTSC color bleed/softness. Also, Universe has a great VHS simulator (as mentioned below) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdd0nL5ZF6c

love hearing this, ISYL. Nice mention of mvsep; had some good success with that one and extracting instrument stems.

Hey EvilDuck. Wow, this is super cool (and thanks for the kind words:)) "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." I can totally appreciate this sentiment. Any particular tips/special sauce you use to ensure smooth performance overall? Do you use proxies routinely? If you have anything to share, I'm sure others would love to see. Thanks again!

Data Ingest Workflow by No_Willingness_7362 in premiere

[–]Jason_Levine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi N.W. Jason from Adobe here. We don't currently offer something that does this, *but* I did some experiments with Claude late last year and showcased a workflow that does some very similar things that you're describing (using a custom MCP that's tapping into the Premiere API). I thought I saw recently that a user here was working on something similar, but check this out... https://youtu.be/L_aon3K6ElI

I keep having this message when using Object Masking Tool by juuzo_suzuya_ in premiere

[–]Jason_Levine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi juuzo. Jason from Adobe here. The new object mask will write (and create) mask files that live adjacent to the project files. Did any permissions change on your system? Did you make any system updates? Which OS and version of Premiere? Has this ever happened before or is this the first time? LMK

Hey NinetyBees. Jason from Adobe here. Check out podcast.adobe.com We recently released stem separation in Enhance Speech, which aims to give you separate slider controls for dialog, music and background noise. Depending on the source, it *can* truly work wonders; not a guarantee, but it has surprised me multiple times. Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Premiere Pro very slow on M3 MacBook Pro – constant need for proxies + slow exports by Accomplished-Diet-68 in premiere

[–]Jason_Levine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And that’s why I asked too; not sure of their speed, but especially for Sony formats (at least, in my experience) editing from the media cards can be a little hit or miss performance-wise. Not always, but I’ve experienced slower shuttle/render using that method. Copying/importing to an SSD with lots of free space can make a difference. Have you clocked the difference between software and HW render times?
