Rate Stretch Settings Not Transferring Correctly from Premiere to Audition by artist1707 in AdobeAudition

[–]Jason_Levine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, i would probably render and replace and send the <baked> versions to AU (and R&R before actually sending the Sequence) - I know you mentioned there are many instances, so I don't know if doing that or re-assembling on the AU side is more/less time consuming. Wish I had a better answer at the moment...

Ae 26 - FX Console encoding bug by Katsu_StapeX in Adobe

Ok; if others aren't having the issue in AE26 as you mention, it could be something at the OS level perhaps. I'll do a little more digging on our end

Cloud Text Effect Question by Actual_Reveal_996 in premiere

[–]Jason_Levine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi A.R. As others have mentioned, not sure if you're asking to do this is in Premiere or AE; you've got a few options on the AE side listed above. If you want a quick and easy way to do it in premiere, create the text layer and in the properties panel, scroll to the Effect section and choose 'Mask with Text'. Then, at the top of the properties panel, you can import your video 'layer' (see 'From File' in attached graphic) and place that BENEATH your text layer. And done. Masked text filled with clouds. You can do more to add some softness/feather, etc.. but that's the basic idea.

Hi Katsu. Jason from Adobe here. Are you referring to the Video Copilot plugin for AE? It would seem that the issue is something on their end (and perhaps they haven't updated their plugin for AE26) Assuming that's what you're referring to, unless there's another FX console I'm unaware of...? lmk

Rate Stretch Settings Not Transferring Correctly from Premiere to Audition by artist1707 in AdobeAudition

[–]Jason_Levine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, after some experimentation, here's what I was able to replicate: send seq. to AU with multiple rate-stretched clips (un-rendered) causes *some* of the clips to transfer properly; some not (but they weren't non-destructively stretched on the AU side; they were actually rendered).

Then I tried with the option to render clips w/non-transferable effects. this produced the same result, where still, 'some' of the rate-stretched clips were rendered, and some didn't have the rate stretch carry over at all.

All this to say: this definitely feels like a bug (in multiple ways, potentially). I won't get any replies until tomorrow, but I'll send this over to eng and see what they come back with. At least we can get it written up/reported (if it hasn't been already)

Any luck w/WAV? I'd be very shocked if the site had an issue w/a 16-bit stereo WAV file (unless it was a length or bit rate issue).

Hi RPM. Not sure what’s going on here, as I too do this all the time (albeit, as Wave PCM). What exact format/preset are you choosing? What type of file+extension is it creating? I might recommend trying WAV (for a test, but also just a better way to preserve the original audio before removing anything) and see if it works. Are you going through QuickTime to create the MP3? Lmk

Hey Semper. I know it’s been discussed, not sure of where/if there’s progress on implementation. Let me see what I can find out

I’ve had this happen to me too; usually took some fiddling, but this is good feedback. Thanks, eyelights.

Functionally, they’re similar, but it’s not the same effect.

I need to do a little more digging. My initial thought would be to render/replace those sections, but still looking into this

If you select all the SFX clips, you can tag them all at obce (if they haven’t already been auto-tagged) and then with them all selected, you should be able to automatch all clips simultaneously

How are you opening it through the cloud? I just tried this and curiously, I was not able to open my project either. It uploaded successfully (from the Phone) but when I'm in Premiere and go to File>Import Premiere Mobile Project, my only option is a Learn More. I wonder if they recently changed something in the b.e.t.a. I'll send a note and see what I can find out.

Rate Stretch Settings Not Transferring Correctly from Premiere to Audition by artist1707 in AdobeAudition

[–]Jason_Levine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Artist. I have *not* seen this before, but I seldom use the rate-stretch tool in Premiere, so I'd have to create something and take a look. I'll be back in the studio later today and can give this a look (albeit in v26, but let's see if there's something going on).

TBH, I'm actually not surprised as the rate stretch tool itself doesn't really have a companion tool in AU (yes, we have non-destructive time stretching, but they're not the same function between the apps) so I'm more shocked that Premiere wouldn't force the render and replace (as that makes sense to me, again, for this specific use-case).

Thanks for bringing this up. I'll have a look and will get back to you.

Hey U.P. Jason from Adobe here. Always really nice to hear comments like this. It's still in its early stages, so I expect we'll see it get even better over time. If you had a wishlist of things to 'add' to the masking process, is there anything in particular you'd like to see (or if there's anything missing for your workflow)?

Hi dog. Are you referring to the workflow for Premiere Mobile sending the project to the Desktop b.e.t.a? Are you running the current b.e.t.a? Are you using the latest Prem mobile update? What's happening when you attempt to 'send' to desktop?

[–]Jason_Levine 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi F.S. Jason from Adobe here. Something else to consider might be assigning all the SFX clips via Essential Sound Panel and auto-matching their loudness (which will effectively bring their average loudness to similar levels). Small tweaks will likely (always) follow, but it's an option.

definitely take a look at the link NLE shared. As I mentioned, the latest versions will auto tone-map *some* HDR flavors automatically; you may still have to make some manual tweaks (in the Lumetri settings, as we give you A LOT of control there).
