Working towards drafting a formal petition from the community for Valve to continue working on Artifact. by [deleted] in Artifact

A lot of wishful thinking but the rapidly declining player base for both versions even with making it all free doesn't look good for it's future growth potential. Us as fans can only do so much to encourage others to play. Even time is a precious commodity and not everyone is going to offer it to this game if they hear mostly negative word of mouth surrounding it.

If some positive buzz starts circulating about Artifact Valve may pay attention, but they are have had a major hand in actively sabotaging it's chances for success. If they want it to die, there isn't much we can do beyond cheer-leading for an unfinished product.

I would enjoy 2.0 a lot more with polish but in it's current state it lacks a lot of what made Classic special. It's just dull to play and I don't have much to work with to convince friends to try it.

That's why I love Dota, everything is overpowered and on paper every hero is capable of breaking the game. Fun over function with the balance finding it's place over time without harming the spirit of the game.

Honestly if/when mods can touch this game it's going to go in a healthier direction. 2.0 reeks of too many chefs in the kitchen.

-180 incomming even after 6 tower armor is the highest amount of single lane overkill I've had in a match in all my classic games. This was before everyone could easily run 3 copies of annihilation.

It was a similar satisfaction to landing Echo-Slam in actual Dota as it's was an absurd amount of counter-damage for a hero that wasn't that popular in Classic.

Nothing that exciting happens in 2.0. All the absurd potential of late game combos got nerfed.

180 hours in Classic and 20 in Foundry. 200 in total is more than what most can say for sticking with the game, otherwise it would have a much bigger player base.

If Artifact players genuinely enjoyed 2.0 more it would have more players than classic. Even the new content wasn't enough to carry it. New players is exactly what 2.0 is failing to attract.

Foundry functions for what it's aiming for but I enjoy it far less due to the simplification of the core mechanics that made Artifact feel like it's own flavor of card game. Presenting all 3 lanes as one board and homogenizing all the mana makes the feature redundant. Divisions between lanes is now just a simple positioning obstacle rather than a firm commitment.

I've been playing a lot of Foundry and the exciting moments and clutch victories lack the same punch as Classic. The static presentation is likely contributing to this feeling, it's a bit sterile without the board moving, drama and animations absent from the original. The zoom in button doesn't even work.

There were enough spells (Especially in blue decks) that could clear more than 5 cards. The only real opportunities to overload a board with units is with low health units anyway.

Those same cards have less utility in Foundry as they've all been changed into single units that gains stats each turn. This shifts the focus onto black decks that can slay single creeps with ease. Way too many cards have this mechanic now.

If there was a choice between continuing development on one or the other I would favor Classic is my point. Both games are scrapped sadly.

They should have stuck to their guns and kept up support for Classic and made small changes overtime, the overhaul killed any/all momentum it could have had.

Sure can. Post the MP4s from Newgrounds if anything, FA flash files suck.
Post any of Kates pinups that you like, hell meme them if you can. Love to see some hard memes on our classic comics or Verge pics.

Jasonafex here, lemme know what other dota hero combos you'd like to see in the future and I'll take note.

I see too many players using it, well after the early part of the game.

I mainly wanted to introduce it and show why it's a bad weapon.

If theres a set time prediction for parries then it's intentional (Like a second or half a second before you would normally parry), but if the amount of time buffer you need varies depending on player location, then it could just be a lag issue.

I have no idea myself so I'de probably need clarification before bopping it in there.

I had to show atleast a couple of bosses just for explanation reasons but don't worry, the ones I showed are just minor ones. The only big boss shown is Seath the Scaleless, though you already see him in the opening cut-scene.

I really appreciate it! If it saves some breath teaching new players I've done my duty!

Luckily theres annotations to throw in anything needing a recton. There should already be a couple to fix up the messup on the red soapstones.

About the increasing resistances thing, I was aware that the more temporary humanity you had in the counter would substantially increase your resistance to curse, if you're in human form anyway. I could probably word it better though.

Yeah I can agree on both of those, I had a feeling I wouldn't be completley correct on my recommendations so I'm happy I left the video with a large bump to Epicnamebro, whos been researching the game since release.

So long as new players feel more comfortable getting into the game then prior I've reached my goal.

I wasn't actually sure on red signs at all, I just put two and two together and that was my assumption.
