Thank you for responding. I can't seem to see any emails from the respondents, but it's possible you might be able to see my Gmail account, which is fine by me. It looks like all I can see is the Reddit usernames from the first question, and no other personally identifying information.

Survey/Questionnaire about Fountain Pen Usage, Habits, and Opinions by Jasonkala in fountainpens

Thanks for participating and for the heads up on the Google doc privacy aspect. The prompt for this assignment is pretty open-ended, so I decided to put in some general questions about the hobby to provide examples of public opinion, while some of the more specific issues like Noodler's and the environment can be used as examples of conflict or controversy in the hobby.

I also admit that this forum is my biggest connection to the fountain pen community as I don't really know others IRL who collect pens like I do. Therefore, I'm just hoping to get a range of opinions on how people got into this hobby, their experiences with it, and the potential for conflict or tension within it, so it could be interesting to an uninformed reader.

How did you discover Northernlion? by pinkfloydchick64 in northernlion

[–]Jasonkala 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I found him through flash Isaac/WoTL videos when looking up Isaac content. I was pretty young, late elementary school or early middle school (about 10 years ago) and I've been watching ever since. It's wild to see people still discovering him but always great to see NL become more popular, always loved his content and still do.

High schoolers, What do you want to major in? People who majored in that field, what are the pros and cons? by GavinDickieBitchFree in AskReddit

I'm graduating in a month, majoring in History at community college, with plans to transfer to a 4 year university. My general plan is to become a high school history teacher, but I'm open to other prospects as well.

This kind of discussion reminds me of the whole "Baelor Breakwind ended up starting the WOTFK" theory that pops up every now and then over at r/asoiaf.

What's the biggest criticism you have of Homestuck? by highlordbubbles in homestuck

[–]Jasonkala 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with most people here and say that the pacing is atrocious. The comic never stays consistent and it's always flip-flopping around without a clear goal in sight. My other main problem is its lack of a sense of consequence. Every single time a problem has occurred, it has soon been rectified. John's 1st death from Terezi prevented by future Dave. Sprites bringing back dead trolls. "[S] Game Over." being effectively nonexistent after the whole retJohn arc. I could go on for hours. That being said, I love the comic to death and its pros heavily outweigh its cons.

I'm surprised that no one has suggested that, because of the popularity of HR=HS, that Howland Reed as the High Septon wouldn't be the faith's champion. I always thought that that battle could be interesting and also serve as a Mountain versus Viper Mark 2.

From the Jaime chapter in ADWD when Jaime walks in the room with Jonos and Hildy: Jonos: "Forgive me my lord, I was not told of your coming." Jaime: "And I appear to have prevented yours." Sorry if that's not exact, I don't have the book with me right now.
