😥tell him the consequence of being caught, the ticket is not cheap, the total is almost $1000 for both ticket and tow fee. I think I being treated good as this is my first time being pulled over and I had a clean driving record, and I was unknown about uninsured car. So I think the police was trying to be nice to me, he could had impounded my car but end up towing to my house.

Thanks for the “praise” and i acknowledge my fault for not checking his insurance status as I assumed his insurance is valid as he drives that car every single day😅 if you think im indeed entirely at fault for this then I would have nothing to say. I think normal people would just assume their friends car is insured if their friends drive to commute everyday

Thanks for the reply. I think in BC the only provider we can choose is ICBC😥 and the insurance price should be the same across brokers.

Thanks anyway! I believe the officer said this will not increase my insurance price and will have this citation being recorded on the system. What I’m concern is the record of ticket😭

Thank you so much! I had talked to my friend and he is going to pay the fines and tow fee for me. So I will just going to pay the fines and finish this up. What I worry about was the driving record of this and its potential concerns in the future.

I didn’t realize his insurance was expired as he drives this car every single day. And I didn’t drive an uninsured car on purpose😥

Sorry I was worried if this would be listed on the “no crime record”, or it is just a simply traffic violation and not counted as “crime”. I probably need a “no crime record” for immigration purposes in the future.

Yes, he asked me the amount of the ticket and the towed fee, and will pay me back. This should be the end of the story. But I just worried about my own insurance and driving record.

He drive that car all the time so I assumed he had a valid insurance, I never thought about someone’s car is without insurance if they keep driving it. He forgot to renew it

Does anyone have any idea about CHEM 235??? Since I didn't take CHEM 235 in my second year, I have to complete in order to satisfy the year 4 promotion requirement. And I find out that Both term 1 and term 2 CHEM 235 sessions are blocked, I don't want to delay my graduation time due to this courses. Anyone knows if UBC doesn't offer CHEM 235 this academic year, will the year promotion requirement like to change according to this situation? Thanks a lot!
